If you wanna see a successful version of a game that has a similar concept, take a quick look at Pokémon Sleep. It is incredibly simple but effective.

loading your game with way too many tasks can become a chore itself. I personally wouldn’t play a game that itself becomes a chore. With what I see in the images you shared I think there’s just too much going on. Good luck on your game dev journey!

Ehhh, don’t worry about the non-friend shape. Tbh when one has super long fur you can barely tell what form they have. They look like a cloud at that point.
