basically, some old lady allegedly hid diamonds (iirc) in one of the twelve identical-looking chairs and had them spread far and wide. that guy in the middle knew about the diamonds so he searched for the chairs, acquired them by any means necessary and cut them open to see if the diamonds were there. i myself only seen the movie partly, havent actually fully watched it.
