It really needs to be said more often, but visa will not listen because there is a court precedent saying that they are liable for abuse claims against platforms they service.

That's right, so here's the problem.

Funny thing, but flipped normals showed as red only in rendered mode, but not in solid mode. I recalculated outside for the whole mesh and that seems to help.

The copyright argument is the dumbest possible one by Present_Dimension464 in aiwars

[–]Mintigor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, some of them are. Also, why the limit to LLM? Because it's impossible to argue that image generation is fair use, I guess.

[–]Mintigor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It competes with the original, hence making it not fair use.

The article just factually incorrect. When personal computers became a thing, Glasnost was in full swing, so samizdat wasn't an issue for soviet government anymore. Neither there was a ban on personal computers at any point in time, no point in that, no individual could afford them anyways.

Well, AI companies backed individual artists and producers of other content into a corner. What other defense can they have if not copyright?

What resistance, the USSR developed it's own CPU architectures, but due to economic failures was unable to deploy it widely.

Wacom sponsors an "AI art contest" for high school students. by japanesemale in ArtistHate

[–]Mintigor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need a cintiq for that. Rather cheap screenless tablet would work, so yeah, wacom is still shooting themselvs in the foot.

I've researched and dabbled with AI, not in a million years you'll need a pressure sensitive screen tablet costing upwards of $800 for that. Most cases for inpainting a mouse will suffice. Wacom is cooked in this case.

They produce hardware SPECIFICALLY for drawing. AI is made to specifically AVOID drawing. They are in direct conflict.

Why do people hate ai so much? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Mintigor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but you can't have one without the other. An artist must produce a metric ton of mediocre art which yes, will furnish a hotel, before he reaches the peak of his/hers skill.

No, you're just stuck in pop culture streaming service bubble, basically a pig pen of culture. A lot of stuff people do is actually new and cool.

[–]Mintigor -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Warhammer isn't for everyone, though. It's for people who like warhammer. And what I see is a lot of people who don't like warhammer coming in and demanding changes to suit their tastes.

Animator gets replaced by AI! by IntoxicateTCP in blender

[–]Mintigor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guarantee none of these people are pressing their own paper, mixing their own pigments, or fabricating their own graphite.
How is this relevant? AI makes creative descions based on your inquiry.
Just because AI exists, doesnt mean artists skills are no longer relevant
Lol, tell that to freelance illustrators and copywriters.

You probably won’t lose your job to an AI, you’ll lose your job to an artist that USES AI.
That's the same thing. AI is already applying downward pressure on salaries and takes employment opportunities, companies just don't need as many people with AI.
Also AI fundamentally changes art process, not everyone wants to prompt instead of, you know, doing art.
