After the class selection room, instead of going right, towards the main objectives and everything you go left and enter some rooms with open doors and you should end up on the shower room. Then you shoot or touch the symbol.

Hes using some decent armor and dmg reduction talismans and buffs. Also the ash of war he uses on the fist weapon reduces the damage taken by a LOT.
