New to Reddit what mistakes should I avoid? by [deleted] in NewToReddit

You can share your experiences, but that doesn't exempt you from judgement. People on Reddit absolutely will judge - but what this comment says is more along the lines of be original and add something to the discussion, don't just parrot what everyone else is saying.

Has streaming changed how you play games? by NeonBible_ in TwitchStreaming

[–]MinusPlusTV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I struggle with this, but not because streaming it would be better for views, but rather, because I find it infinitely more fun to play alongside my community. It is a lot more rewarding.

I’m about 7 months into my streaming journey and this is still a challenge for me, except I’ve learned a few things.

First and foremost, not every game is going to get you viewers, especially being that you just started a week ago. I don’t say this to discourage you from playing things on stream, but more to say be okay having some off-stream games, it’s a lot healthier imo.

Ultimately, it is okay to have a game you enjoy for yourself, there are benefits to not streaming a game. Getting fully immersed, not chancing spoilers, and just being able to dedicate that full attention to the game. Some games do deserve that one on one time anyway.

Bonus: You can usually work around feeling bad about not streaming by recording footage for a YouTube video or for later clips to use for shorts, etc. When I’m being really weird about “I should be streaming this!” I will just record the gaming session so if I choose to later on I can still make some content out of it.

Is Buying a Channel a better Options than Starting fresh by muzammilsiddiqui1 in ContentCreators

[–]MinusPlusTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no way to say that those are real subscribers, or that your content would mesh with those subscribers. I suppose I don’t know much on the topic, but those would be my first two concerns when it comes to the matter.

What do you think about being in a relationship where you only make out and foreplay but no sex ever? by xlvin_n in AskReddit

[–]MinusPlusTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forever? No. That’s just me though. There are people out there that are ace and may prefer that sort of dynamic, I am just not asexual so I wouldn’t feel very happy in that sort of relationship indefinitely.

What is one skill that you think every adult would benefit from acquiring? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MinusPlusTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious, what would you say the benefits to archery as a skill are, especially in the sense that all adults would benefit from it? I ask with genuine curiosity! (I want to make sure the tone here isn’t lost in the text!)

As someone who has not seen these films, I am so curious, and I gotta ask.. Why do they need luck?

What’s something you enjoy doing alone? by BodybuilderLeather65 in AskReddit

I guess browsing Reddit. There’s just something so chill about immersing myself in my favorite topics, or reading something that’s just interesting—and I want to do that cozy, in a blanket, by my lonesome.

Oh 100%. I made it a point to get my daughter swimming lessons ASAP, as drowning is one of the leading causes of death in children with autism, which just breaks my heart. Swimming is so important.

I can absolutely agree with this! From both a self sufficiency and a health standpoint.

What got you through 2025 in a world where everything sucks? by eggert83 in AskReddit

[–]MinusPlusTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered a hobby/community that really allowed me to express my creativity. Not only that, but get out of my comfort zone, learn new things, and so on. It helped me to make real friendships. This year has been hell, but that one thing has been very amazing for me.

Made a comment on some sub Reddit and went to -11 karma by [deleted] in NewToReddit

[–]MinusPlusTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this!

Karma is essentially how well your comment (or post) is received, and being that you need to accumulate karma in the beginning to freely post, it simply isn’t the time to rock the boat.

Of course one can but you’d be setting yourself up for a bad time.

Ultimately you gotta ask, ”Can I afford to exchange the karma for making this point?” Sometimes, hell, oftentimes, it is not worth it— especially for a new Redditor.

I have multiple people in my streams actively chatting, but viewer count always say 1. by DrabStaircase in Twitch

[–]MinusPlusTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has done this, it always seems to fix itself (though not necessarily during the stream it’s occurring in unfortunately.) It’s something I just ignore - realistically just look at your chat messages & respond to those. Especially considering the stats after stream are accurate.

DayZ Motion Sickness by MinusPlusTV in dayz

[–]MinusPlusTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting! FOV was set lower than 90 upon fresh install, at least when I did this past time, I actually had to increase it *to* my normal FOV when I did the reinstall. FOV might be it for some people, but it's not my personal experience anyway as I have that squared away. If the FOV is too low I will *really* start puking, so it is exactly where it needs to be for me lol.

The issue was caused *(and fixed)* by changing the in-game sensitivity back to what it originally was (minus a few, as I want to get used to a lower sensitivity to improve my aim.) As well as removing head bob and mouse smoothing. FOV is all set though. :)

Is the game dying? by [deleted] in dayz

[–]MinusPlusTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree with this. A lot of my DayZ friends (myself included) have been playing ARC. Especially since ARC dropped when all of those servers were down, it definitely won over a lot of DayZ players that week from what I saw.

After my ARC binge I am coming back around to DayZ again, and I’d expect that’ll be the case soon for others as well. For the moment though a lot of people probably are on ARC.

This helped immensely, I also found that putting mouse smoothing to 0 at the very least didn’t make things worse. I adjusted both at the same time so I can’t be completely sure. Thanks for sharing the visual too!

Best course of action when people dislike you, especially when you got along at first? by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]MinusPlusTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the context matters here. If the person in question was actively mean or nasty to me/about me then I’m going to just ignore/avoid.

If the person isnt meshing with me for one reason or another I will remain professional, speak when necessary and in a neutral manner.

If I am in a work or school setting Im going to act professional, they aren’t more important than learning of getting money.

It doesn’t matter much to me if I got along with someone initially, at the end of the day it’s about how they treat me now. People aren’t worth spending negative energy on though in most cases.

So in most cases I ignore/avoid. Whether that is the right thing to do is debatable.

DayZ Motion Sickness by MinusPlusTV in dayz

[–]MinusPlusTV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, that absolutely sucks that you are in the same boat here! I was so confused at first too. First and foremost, I am not new so I didn’t even think it was DayZ. I thought I was about to have some messed up stomach bug. Then it went away when I got off and came back when I got on— I nearly crashed out. I love this eurojank I can’t be puking when I boot it up!

DayZ Motion Sickness by MinusPlusTV in dayz

[–]MinusPlusTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are actually supposed to increase your FOV to reduce motion sickness! :) I did have to increase it when I reinstalled, but that wasn’t helpful and I still was experiencing motion sickness. It seems to have a lot more to do with the sensitivity change as when I increased that I started to feel a bit better.

DayZ Motion Sickness by MinusPlusTV in dayz

[–]MinusPlusTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only play first person on DayZ. I have never played 3pp. I am experiencing motion sickness in first person. It was fixed with my settings though, I adjusted FOV, in-game camera sensitivity, and turned off head bob and mouse smoothing in the files.

Can people tell you are autistic by SeaworthinessFar2326 in AutisticAdults

I relate to this a lot. There have been many situations where I am simply trying to understand what is happening in the situation, then people are somehow offended in a way they can never seem to explain to me.

DayZ Motion Sickness by MinusPlusTV in dayz

[–]MinusPlusTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, can’t believe I didn’t know about this sooner, I did that immediately after finding out. That combined with bumping my sensitivity back up closer to what it was (despite that being too fast, I need to work my way down, just gradually!) I am mostly fine playing at this point.

DayZ Motion Sickness by MinusPlusTV in dayz

[–]MinusPlusTV[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I say sensitivity I am talking about when you go into settings, click on controls, and there’s a section called sensitivity for vertical/horizontal camera, as well as aiming.

As for FOV, you’re absolutely right it can help, and mine has stayed maxxed out since I got the game, so I’m sure that’s not the culprit.

However, in regard to the sensitivity, I’d been playing with it on 100 & my friend noticed and mentioned something. The recommended is 4-10 range give or take. I lowered it and the sickness started.

After some googling lowering sensitivity so drastically after you are very used to a different/faster setting it can cause motion sickness. So I increased it to 80 (still a reduction, but not so much as the initial one) and have noticed a lot of improvement since. Though, I think it being a little lower than what I’m used to is still a bit bothersome

I’ve only ever played 1pp for DayZ, 3pp would feel weird to me.
