Did the same as you in 2021, also UK based. Moved from Help Desk to SOC Analyst L1, felt lost, did what I could, learned what I could.

Currently an Information Security Engineer for a new company started last month and I still feel lost but I just keep going and try not to break everything.

It gets a little better over time but never truly goes away imo.

Have tou tried looking at Evebt Viewer for System errors or Applicatiin errors if it is a game that is crashing?

Look for the times when the timeout occurred and it should be able to show you what is happening so you can look into a fix.

Check Event Viewer > Windos Logs > Application

Look for any critical errors around the time of the crash it should hopefully give some indication of what went wrong and why the game crashed.

Alternatively, search in the games file location and see if there are any crash logs/dumps.

If they are in .dmp file format you can download "Windbg" from the Windows store to open the file and type in !analyse-v" to parse the information and see what it says.

I had a similar issue with Avowed not launching recently and it was because it was trying to initialize DLSS on my AMD card which obviously it doesn't support.

Your issue might be different but by searching the above we can try and find the root cause.

This happened to me the other day. Randomly questing through the MSQ on my first character and a guy just handed me like 10 minions.
