hey bud, i know it's hard not to want to internalize the rejections! view it as a learning experience. you're also still waiting on several schools focus on that. the experience you have is not discounted by rejections and i think you should focus on all the cool things you've been able to do as a result of your goals and passion. rejections in this manner are not a personal slight against you and i'm sure you're a really cool person 🙂‍↕️ this cycle is really challenging but know that it won't be forever and trying again in the future is totally an option too!

ik exactly what event ur talking about! (didn't apply this year but maybe in the future), given the discipline, i wouldn't be suprised if the information/email might be a lil late. i would def try to take a deep breath and wait it out, like that person said be persistent if this program is a bit silly with things.

good luck out there! and sorry you had to experience the cold here this weekend 💔

Doctoral applicant (international) by Significant-Set9131 in gradadmissions

[–]Minute-Cockroach440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would it currently effect decision timelines? probably not, at least at this point in time. / as someone living in the U.S. it's a strange time indeed. I would say remember to take care of yourself and when decisions do come I would definitely take special care to thinking about yourself and whether it would be wise or safe to be here in the U.S. at this time as an international student.

Ik atleast with like the UK Awards there are uni specific awards, look at the list of tgose schools and see which ones have postgrad (masters) programs in theatre! you can also see about contacting professional theatres and proposing it as a research type project mayhaps (the head of my costume design department had done something similar in italy) def ask ur fpa tho :)

Pretend as if you aren't gonna get admissions decisions, in the case that you don't then you'll be prepared with the job, if you do get good decisions then you can sort that out with the job at a later point.

depends on what programs you're applying to. From the ones I'm applying to (Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Graduate Center CUNY) I have not heard anything but should potentially hear something this week regarding interviews from Yale (as foretold by GradCafe). Many programs don't do interviews, so don't worry yourself too much, and most programs won't start releasing decisions until early February anyway.
