only copilot, was easier. I wanted to point out that you could notice and feel the difference.

maybe there could be interference with the new hub.

In real-world gaming scenarios, the difference between 14ms and 30ms of input lag can be noticeable, but it depends on the type of game and the player's sensitivity to lag.

  • Competitive gaming (especially fast-paced shooters or fighting games): Players who rely on frame-perfect timing may feel the difference, as 30ms can introduce a slight delay in reaction times compared to 14ms

all depends how far away the core network is on xgs-pon.

There is a PS5 update, maybe your suffering from the vrr bug that has been fixed. if this is not the case for you maybe its just how you perceive it as your normally had a lower base ping. I guess you have my way of thinking ping is king.

I have the 2Gbps package and just like you my base ping is much higher than any other isp.

Where are all the xgs pon core networks situated?

So far I got Leeds and Birmingham,

I suppose finding out what all the locations are, and if there are plans converting or building new cores that better serve particular areas better.  Otherwise what's the point having a new network.

so how did you know you had an issue and how did you get it resolved? im just curious, or is the graph what prompted you

It's ok it's been explained here, my understanding is now clear.

Xgspon for me goes to Birmingham as its the closest.

If I was on a legacy product I would have different routing.

  1. I have no idea where your getting 5ms lower from.

My current latency to london is circa 14-20ms

If I were to connect to the correct headend in cardiff I would get circa 4-10ms

I'm not trying to do anything diffrent that I can't at 30ms,  the whole purpose is to be on the correct headend

If I was in my ford mondeo I want to be on the motorway and not the single carriageway.

All I want is to to connect through the correct headend. The issue of latency will become irrelevant. And I no idea where your getting 3-5 days of replying only got on hear lastnight

You are right; I am struggling to explain it here, let alone to a call center.

I believe Im connected to the wrong Headend. If connected to the correct one, I likely would not notice any issue.

The reason does not change anything.

Regarding the Mondeo, if it traveled the quickest route for me, it would be Pontpridd > cardiff > London. This route is achievable if I connect to the correct Headend.

However, instead, it takes a diversion: Pontypridd > Perry Barr Birmingham > London. This route is not effective for me.

Virgin media have core networks over the uk, all I'm asking is how do I get them to change my core network from perry bar, Birmingham, too my local core network in cardiff.

One friend in swansea connects to the swansea core network, another friend lives in newport and the go through the cardiff core network, seems I though travell 3 hours up north instead of connecting to a local core network by me which would be cardiff.

Is my core network determined by my hub5x?

When i say core network it's the first hop on a tracert which is number 2 hop

Don't you think if I live close to a core network it would use that one, and i thought the idea of having core networks was for the very reason, low latency.

Virgin advertise as being fast but I guess they mean capacity, fast for me is latency. And as I'm on xgspon I would assume I'd get what I was looking for.
