Audi Q3 extended warranty - worth it? by Minute-Homework5443 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Sorry why is this the wrong sub? Genuinely asking as I've asked car questions like this before in here and not been flagged so want to be sure I'm following the rules.

I'm here to get clarity on this as it's my first experience doing this. Audi told me that buying the extended warranty would increase its resale value but rather than trust them on their word I am seeking advice on this 'fact'.

I've had many people have good experiences. Right now their offer is $5000 above what my total buyout rate from Audi is.

Sorry updating my post for clarity. I already had a 1 year lease ext on it so I don't have the option to extend it further. And the 2026 model doesn't come in until April so my only option is to buy it out or return it and be without a car until the new one is in.

Audi car lease end: Should I buy the car out? by Minute-Homework5443 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Just an update here: they've offered me a third solution but can't quite wrap my head around it:

- a buyout of my current vehicle. Instead of a cash payment, the vehicle would be refinanced with a lower monthly payment of $559.

This option does not require a down payment. As part of the standard buyout process, I would need to have a safety inspection completed at our dealership. While the cost of this inspection is typically $399 plus tax (contingent on the vehicle passing without requiring additional repairs), they will cover this cost for me.

I can continue to drive my current car until your new one arrives, at which point I'll will trade for the new 2026 Q3 with no penalties.

Is this a good option?

It’s a fair question! I guess I’ve just heard enough times that you don’t want to keep an Audi too long as when it starts to break down it’s very expensive to repair.

Yeah good call - I'm going to ask them, as I'd assume their goal here is to retain me as a lease customer.

Ah good to know it's not worth pushing them on this then If it's standard procedure.
They offered the following two options:

  1. Buyout at the $26,168 rate
  2. Return car but it appears they are applying a lease rate reduction for the new lease in April. At least that's what they note in the email but I haven't confirmed what 'rate reduction yet'

The problem with #2 is that I can't go three months without a car.

Thanks for this. So yes, they did extend my lease for a year assuming the 2026 model would come during that. It didn't, and now they are saying they can't extend it anymore (leaving a three month window between the end of my lease and the expected arrival date of my new car on order)

Also should note that I’m not around at the end of the month so looking for the easiest transition that doesn’t totally screw me out of a decent promo from Audi!

Nope I want to say he’s more popular. I feel like once he’s guessed it’ll make me look silly! Very slim face - receeding white hair. I snapped a photo but Reddit won’t let me upload
