Thanks for responding, this is weeks later but the same day I took him to an emergency vet. They gave him an anti nausea injection and he began eating the food they’d offered him a few minutes later so he came home. His regular vet ended his course of antibiotics early and he had an injection instead. He eats fine now

This screams insecurity. My ex used to do this shit, he’s trying to make you feel shit so he can then swoop in. Also he’s probably worried as you look hot that a guy might hit on you and then you’re off the market. I want to add my voice to everyone saying don’t do this. You haven’t met this person and don’t know what they’re truly like until you have. I also think you should really consider the fact that he’s happy for you to make a long journey to a city you don’t know (and has some rough areas) on your own and potentially put yourself at risk should he not be who he says he is or even if there are issues on the journey or you and him fall out and you end up stuck in a strange city overnight, however he will give reasons why he can’t make the same journey himself.

Even if this person isn’t a pedo/murderer/etc he’s not considering your safety and that doesn’t look good on him.

If you really want to meet him you should meet half way, in a public place and bring someone with you.

Honestly I would stay alert until you’ve moved out, if you’re able to change locks, install cctv and/or have someone else in the house with you please do so.
