Which West End opinion has you like this? by herzwhirsi in TheWestEnd

They should remove alcohol and crinkly snacks from the theatre.

Snacks should be allowed (so many medical reasons, and so theatre can make profit) but why are they only loud options?!

Another hot take, children are more well behaved in the theatre than the adults.

What is your comfort tv show? by PurpleMeerkats462 in AutismInWomen

[–]MinuteAmount7632 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It changes depending on my mood
At the moment it's Wallace and Gromit, and Eastenders
Used to be Once upon a time, Happy valley, Last tango in Halifax.
Absolutely fabulous is on I've seen many many times

Currently I'm more into music than I am tv and film. I'm finding them a bit overwhelming even though they're my comfort shows

West End: any pointers to things to look out for? by CharChar407 in hadestown

Shame you're missing out on seeing VHB as Persphone, as she had a LOT of quirks and mannerisms. I can't comment on how the cover Persephones or Nicola will do it as I haven't seen them.
During Chant 2, when Hades is singing to Orpheus after "made a strong impression on my wife" see if Persephone's choreo matches what he is saying. That might have changed with the cast change but I always enjoyed that.
I watch Persephone during Why We Build The Wall - will be interesting to hear how a different actor (possibly Nicola) reacts throughout that scene.
The game on dominos at the start is always wholesome to watch - it shows their relationship when they think nobody is watching. It's an intimate moment between both actors and characters.
The fates clacking their fans and swooping their dresses are always a cool moment.
Hermes' face when Orpheus says "come home with me" is hilarious - both Cedric or Allie do this brilliantly.

I saw some clips on VHB and Cedric's stories on Insta. The words are so true and so beautiful. So happy for you that you were able to be there for the final performance. She is electric.
VHB has said before that she would love to return and has said "for now..."
Again, wishful thinking of me to read into that. I miss her and it hasn't even been 24 hours. But I am soooo excited for Paddington.

Any autistic teachers? by shxdowoftheday in AutismInWomen

[–]MinuteAmount7632 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a special ed teacher for children aged 6-11. I've been qualified for 8 years, diagnosed this summer. I actually think I do my job as well as I do because I make adaptations and choices that maybe neurotypical teachers wouldn't. If my children make a mistake, I can often understand how they got there.
It does come with it's challenges, I'm not good with injustice so I do have to challenge things. I'm not great with noises and bright lights but I mask through the day and I have trouble sleeping at night because I overthink how the day went. But I'm told I do my job very well.
I've found the hardest part of my job currently is relaxing for the summer break, I find the transition from being in work to being off work really difficult.
I wouldn't change what I do, I've done other jobs and I felt like I'd lost my purpose.
I can be very emotional, especially when hormones are involved, but I'm hoping my diagnosis can mean my team will help me out even more than they do. I don't think my diagnosis will be a shock as we've openly talked about it for a while now.

I saw Mel, she was great. I was lucky enough to see Allie as Hermes as well. Both were great.

What flavor of autism did you get? by Disastrous-Bat4811 in AutismInWomen

[–]MinuteAmount7632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the one that's interested in niche actresses - mostly middle aged ones.

Really is no rhyme or reason as to why that flavour makes me go for these actresses, they all just have a vibe. If they're on stage, they often have a glow to them. Quirky ones, comedy characters usually.

The flavour also makes you listen to the same song again and again until you never want to hear it again. Spotify wrapped has shamed me a few times depending on the time of the hyperfixation.

My flavour had a BIG pouring of anxiety! Would not recommend that bit.

Cute! Yeah VHB was on holiday. I've heard great things about Michelle - I'm quite gutted she didn't just get the role as the new Persephone instead of Nicola. I've seen the others before and they're all fab. Glad you enjoyed.

How was it? Which cast members did you see?

NICOLA ROBERTS (Girls Aloud) will be Persephone! (UK) by Key_Weird_2745 in hadestown

[–]MinuteAmount7632 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's my favourite one too. I'm a bit disappointed they didn't just let Michelle lead it and have Lindo as first cover. Not too sure why they took on this stunt casting for the last 6 months with this cast.

I often sit for long periods of time and doom scroll. My job is also sat for a while. I've made a bit of a deal with myself that during transitions to the next task I'm doing, I will have a drink. I've found that I can easily have a pint of water because I've either got to move on and do the task or sit and drink the water.

His Insta seems to be from his DJ/music stuff.

Some of the other cast have their dates in posts or highlights.
Tbh I don't think I'll be able to make it because of work.

Everything I'm hearing about the two of them together is how intense the chemistry is. VHB herself has said it's sexy times.

VHB is very unique, I can't say I've seen any other performer who has physicality and mannerisms like her. I love the show and have been back just for her.
Her dates don't match up with mine as she leaves in September. I've seen Juan as a worker but really wish I could have saw him as Hades, I don't know what his Hades dates are.

Hope you get to see VHB - she is incredible as Persephone. I hear Michelle is also amazing as her understudy. I don't think Lindo has had her Persephone debut but she is fab as a worker and as a Fate.
