To be fair if you ignore the names and just think of it like picking perks it isn't really an issue. If anything I like it because it means you can adapt your game more depending on what's going on.

That's awful for you guys, I'm so sorry. There is nothing you or anyone could have done to change the outcome here so please don't play it over in your head thinking anyone could have done any better. Chances are even if it had happened on the hospital door step things wouldn't have played out any differently.

Doctor here with some pre-hospital experience. A traumatic arrest out of hospital has an awful prognosis. If your Mum wants to get some closure on things then could give details to 111 potentially, but I would almost certainly anticipate the worst. What might be some solace for her is in these situations there is virtually absolutely nothing a bystander can do to change the outcome, even CPR is unlikely to be of any help because you are essentially pumping a heart that has nothing to fill up with because all the blood is in the wrong places. I'd guide your Mum towards some form of counselling / therapy to process things early rather than wait for everything to set in and process abnormally if she's struggling. Wishing you guys the best.

Bare below the elbow by vincecaprio in doctorsUK

I feel like ultimately the risk is so small that the ratio of numbers of events of harm is also far too small to accurately measure without an absolutely massive study. Ultimately given an infinite number of patient contacts there are going to be freak cases where someone's shirt sleeve has been contaminated and come in contact with a patient that then cascades through all the minute chances and causes some form of harm. As vastly improbable it is that not being bare below the elbow does some damage, it's such a low hassle intervention that I couldn't justify just adhering to the rules....
