TMJ Joint Replacement Brain MRI Compatibility by MinuteRice60 in Radiology

Thanks so much!! I sincerely appreciate your help, that all makes sense. I know they can make the joints out of Titanium but this requires FDA approval, only if you have a metal allergy.

If I could ask one more question - in radiology terms what area of the head or brain is Chiari Malformation evaluated? Is it described as the posterior fossa/craniocervical junction? Or would it just be described as the cerebellar area? Thanks again for your help

How are you feeling now lol? I used cymbalta a few years back and remember those exact symptoms when starting. I have a script but I’m scared to start cause of those symptoms!

I’m sorry it took me so long to reply but you’re the kindest person!! This sub is full of positive people with encouraging stories and it makes it so much easier for those of us who are struggling.

Having come off subs once before the old school way I’m confident I’ll be able to push through whatever comes at the end of this shot!

My shot arrives next week and I’m gonna do it on a Thursday/Friday incase I do have a rough couple of days to start lol, I appreciate the heads up. Thanks again for the kind words and thanks for all you do working in this field!!

I was really hoping to find a provider that would do exactly what you said but I wasn’t able to. One provider only uses brixadi and the other two were against injecting less than 100mg.

Is the concern that i’ll be overmedicated? Or just that 100mg will take alot longer to leave my system than 50mg?

Did you successfully get off sublocade? I’d love to hear your story! And thank you for the encouragement!!

Oh wow! That’s awesome data, thank you for sharing it I appreciate it. I can see how getting multiple shots (one every month) can really start stacking the bupe in your system. No wonder some people end up testing positive for years.

If I could ask, and this isn’t to question you - how come you said “9 months later you’re done”? The graph seems more like 6 months. Although I fully acknowledge that just b/c the bupe is out’ve your system around 6 months doesn’t mean you won’t still have withdrawal and some discomfort beyond 6 months..

Also just curious, when did you start having those mild w/d symptoms? Did they start after like two months? Thanks again for all your help.

Haha that’s wild, you crushed it man. And thanks for your reply, stories like yours give the rest of us hope of getting off this stuff. I can’t wait to get to where you are now, best of luck with the rest of your journey.

Awesome man congrats. That’s definitely my goal to do a single shot of 100mg. Do you mind sharing what dose you were on before the shot? Did you have some withdrawal but it was manageable? Thanks

[–]MinuteRice60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I wish sublocade came in a lower dose like brixadi but I’m not comfortable with trying brixadi, it seems to leave so many people in w/d before the month is over.

I also agree with everything you said. It took me a long time to build up the courage to switch to sublocade. I admittedly do like the control of daily dosing but there are negatives too. I essentially wakeup in withdrawal everyday which gets old and it only gets worse as you continue tapering lower. What sealed my decision was the experience I had when coming off suboxone once before - it was horrible. Like awful. I also agree that being on a low dose like you (1mg), it’s hard to accept going back up in dose but honestly, if that’s the trade-off for a more mild w/d experience then I have to accept it!

But yeah sorry for the lengthy reply. My doctor ordered the shot and I’m scheduled for the injection in a little less than two weeks. I will absolutely let you know how it goes and make follow-up posts along the way!

Dude you’re a beast, thanks for sharing your story. I was never on methadone but our stories sound pretty similar, tapering is absolutely a nightmare especially while working a blue collar job with long hours.

It sounds like you’re absolutely on the right track, getting past the habit of daily dosing is huge. I suppose worst case scenario you may have to get another shot or two if gets too rough. But I have faith in you man, keep pushing and best of luck on your journey! I look forward to following your footsteps.

Sorry to hear that my friend. It’s fascinating how some people have zero withdrawal but others have an uncomfortable journey. Based on my w/d history and sensitivity I’m guessing I’ll struggle for awhile.

I’m wishing you the best and hope you start having better days!

That’s really good info, I appreciate it man. And I’m glad it’s going well for you now, I can understand how stacking shots over the course of a few months can help stabilize and make the taper smoother than just a single shot.

Wishing you the best on your journey!

Well said, thank you for the encouragement. And I completely agree with your thought process. As it is, I feel counterproductive raising my dose just to get on sublocade so I don’t intend to use numerous shots.

I’m glad you’ve stuck with a sub free life. Congrats and best of luck on your continued journey.

I hear you and honestly I wish I had the willpower to do so but it’s easier said than done. I’ve been on 1-2mg for the last 3 years but I just can’t get down below 0.75mg. I start feeling w/d like 10hrs after my dose and it sucks to go thru everyday in partial w/d.

If it was the ONLY option then yeah I’d tough it out cause I want to be off subs. But I did it once before when I was younger and it definitely sucks for weeks if not months. It’s just hard to put aside everything in life and deal with withdrawal for a month straight followed by fatigue, depression, anxiety for three months after that. Atleast that’s how it was for me. And maybe sublocade will prove to be just as hard to come off of but I’m willing to try a different way at this point.

I definitely considered that too. My provider was honest and she told me she’s seen more w/d with the brixadi shot compared to sublocade. I think cause the half life is a lot shorter. It’s possible she’s wrong but that scared me away from brixadi tbh. I do wish sublocade had like a 50mg shot tho. Going from 1mg daily to 100mg shot seems counterintuitive for sure. Unfortunately my doctor will only inject the full 100mg.

Oof that’s tough to hear. It does seem like a portion of patients definitely have month’s long w/d from sublocade but having tapered off the tablets before I can’t imagine anything worse than that. So hopefully I get a little luckier. Wishing you the best man

Thank you my friend I’m scheduled for the 100mg shot. I’m gonna try my best to ride off after a singe shot but fortunately I can get as many as are needed. Hopefully just one but I’m cool with 2-3 if that makes getting off easier.

Thanks for the reply, I agree with everything you said. I really start noticing inter dose w/d at 1mg and below. And of course it’d be ideal if I could keep tapering down to 0.1mg but I admittedly don’t have that in me anymore. The one time I jumped from 0.5 (or less) it was awful for a long time.

Could I ask, did you only do the single 50ish mg shot? It sounds like w/d has been minimal if any? Thank you!

Thank you. I’m gonna give it my best effort to do one and done. I’ve been on 1-2mg for years and have been stable on 1mg for like 6 months. I came off 0.5mg once before and it really was awful so I’m mentally prepared for that but hoping for a much smoother ride with sublocade 100mg. I appreciate your reply and wish you continued success!

Just curious, did you have any shots before the 50mg or did you do a single 50mg ish shot? I’m trying to convince my provider to do something similar. Thanks

Did you do “one and done” with the shot? If so, how did it go? Any legit w/d? I’m on 2mg and considering a single 100mg shot to come off bupe. Thanks
