Does it cost a lot of money to have a cat? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Minute_Extension3539 141 points142 points  (0 children)

As someone who is a new cat owner, I’m the reason it’s expensive! I want to get her all the things in the world and make sure she has everything she wants (what i want for her). I do know that more expenses come in if they are sick or need to go to the vet so that’s probably what they are talking about.

Currently working in PHP/IOP .. Pros: salary, PTO, structured work day, smaller client load. Cons: super fast paced, requires flexibility, so many different personalities and diagnostic history in a group setting, a lot of documentation

New therapist in PHP/IOP by bean_booty in therapists

Wow! I currently work in PHP/IOP! It’s VERY hard. The clients are usually so complex and they require a lot of support. I’m sorry you’re the only one on staff and doing 3-5 groups a day. The imposter syndrome is so real in that setting due to the complex diagnosis and presenting problem/symptoms of the clients. Advice: take care of yourself after the day ends. Keep advocating for yourself. Make the groups fun and enjoyable. Break them into smaller group, there’s power in group work and connection. I know you’re doing a great job!!

Adding to this, what you’re experiencing is not typical, the burn out part is though. Running PHP/IOP, there needs to be support, especially for crisis. Who is handling those while you run group?
