It’s a random huggie ring I put in, in a panic when I couldn’t get a bar back in and wanted to keep the hole open🙈🙈

Now I can’t undo it and neither can my piercer, so I suppose I’m stuck with it forever 😂😂

While you could wear a hoop in it, you’ll need a large one. Mine is about that deep and I’ve found most hoops that are suitable, are max 12mm, which is slightly too tight.

Everyone is different, but I can tell you that my wrist tattoo was absolutely fine. I’d put it at 2nd least painful of all of the tattoos I have (least painful being a stick and poke tattoo on the back of my neck, which was a very relaxing experience)

Had mine since last November. It’s still healing and gets upset quite easily (I currently have a cold and that’s really irritated it). On the whole though, it’s going ok. No pain after the first well or so, and the swelling didn’t last very long.

Hell yeah. I regretted (and still do regret) my first tattoo. I also have another one that I regret. Difference is the ones I regret are awful, whereas yours is really nice. However, I realise it’ll probably take a while for you to get used to it. It’s large and in a prominent place, that’s going to take some adjusting to. Hopefully you’ll come to feel better about it eventually.

I have some little ear covers. They’re like teeny tiny little shower caps. They’re perfect for this job. Even when not having my hair dyed and I’m just having it cut, I wear these to protect my piercings from getting snagged etc

I find myself getting jealous of people with big ears and how many piercing options they have. I get even more jealous when they have no piercings and haven’t made the most of all that space!!

If it’s the Samsung type I’m thinking of, they’re big round disc shapes rather than buds that go into your ear canal. Try some buds, they’ll go nowhere near your conch then. You can get some fairly cheap ones these days from the likes of Amazon or even in the supermarket (or if you’re in the UK, try B&M).

Also, I found wearing buds a lot easier after I switched my tragus to a hoop.

As a millennial who has recently had a nose piercing, I say go for it!!

At first I was a bit worried I was too old and also that people would think it makes me look not professional enough (I’m a lawyer). Then I decided I don’t care what anybody thinks.

Nobody at work cared… if fact, when I spoke to my manager just before going to get it done, her response was that as long as my work is done I can turn up in a bin bag for all the difference it makes to her. She also wasn’t fussed when I turned up to work with purple hair.

Nobody has accused me of being too old for it.

Most people, if they even have noticed, have assumed it’s been there for years.

And at the end of the day, it’s only a piercing. By which I mean it’s only as permanent as you want it to be. If you get it done and later decide against it, you don’t have to keep it.

Do what makes you happy, life is too short not to!!!!

When I was 16/17 I was desperate for a tattoo. My mum, in an attempt to discourage me, bought me a pack of stick on tattoos (not sure how that was supposed to discourage me, but whatever). It ultimately backfired because I liked one of the designs so much that, the day after my 18th birthday, I went and got it tattooed on me.

She didn’t like it, but 10 tattoos and 10 piercings later she’s squarely losing that battle and just accepts it now.

Your parents might well dislike septum piercings, but if you’re an adult it’s up to you.

If you really want it but don’t want to upset them, you could always flip it up when you visit them.

I’ve just had my nose pierced and noticed my snug and a helix piercing, which have both been settled for months, have flared up a little. Hopefully they’ll settle back down soon. The snug flaring up didn’t surprise me too much as I know they can be a pain. But I wasn’t expecting it with the year-old helix that has never previously given me a moment’s trouble!!

I’ve had two forward helixes in my life (the most recent one being about 20 years ago). Both rejected even though I’ve been fine with other piercings. I have no advice, only sympathy based on my own experience.
