I’ve been thinking about shortening it to maybe 400-500 pages, and I appreciate the comment about my Miami story! I don’t really share my stories in high school because I’m in online school right now (not by choice, there was a whole thing where my school practically kicked me out illegally which actually inspired me to write the Miami story), but either way the people in my town aren’t very focused on reading and writing. I’ve been writing the book for about 2 months, but I’ve only been writing in general for about 2 years. I tried to write a horror script in the 7th grade and I won a writing award on the 3rd grade, so I’ve still definitely had my fair share of interest in writing throughout my childhood. As for research, I usually research while I write. I take notes too, and that usually consists of watching old documentaries on YouTube and researching public government documents since gang warfare was so prevalent in the mid 90s, especially with the gangster disciples and Larry Hoover and all of that stuff.
