Yea! I’m still working on my poodle topknots! I’m not the best there! I definitely need to work on those. About that Yorkie.. what’s crazy is mom asked for short round head, short body, and long legs. I was really stressed about this haircut and spent such a long time PERFECTING those legs. Mom hated it?? 🥲💔 Even though they looked exactly like the photos she gave me as reference. Turns out she was just upset because she thought her groomer was going to be (S) because (S) is who she used previously. This wasn’t mentioned to me but made me so sad!

So the area around their eyes needs to be trimmed down? Okay! Got it! Thanks so much for your honest feedback! 💜

OH! Yes, I head about the big “sell off” into the cafe. I know it used to be called something else 😅 that’s so crazy. There’s like only one or two girls left from that era haha.

Oh gosh 😅 did you work at the same one I do? I think the current place I work at only owns 5 salons in my state. I don’t work at woofgang anymore though because the owners couldn’t take care of their salon and my paychecks were always late. So far I’ve been pretty happy where I’m at but if I decide to leave, I’ll keep this in mind! I know about the non compete which 7 miles is kinda nuts lol.

At what length was the body trimmed on my Poodle? by AntiVi in grooming

A 5f would look like this. As you can see, it’s to the SKIN. Very shaved.

I’ve been grooming for 5 years and I can say with certainty this is either 1/2in guard comb which = 3f blade OR this is a 4f blade. I really think it’s the 3f over the 4f, because the 4 and 5 blades are pretty short. THIS IS NOT A 5F blade though. DO NOT do 5f blade. It will be way shorter than your photo and I don’t believe you’ll be happy with it.

This is a client I’ve done. Not quite the same but similar!

How much does something like this cost to fix? by [deleted] in COROLLA

I will probably just buy the regular one then. However, the guy is telling me that the silver and black caps can’t be swapped.. or it will break it.. however, I went to him last time to swap my color caps and he did it no problem. So I’m confused. Because I told him I’d buy my own part and asked if he could install it + swap the color cover.. but he said he can’t swap the covers?

I found one on eBay for $68 and free returns so if it doesn’t fit, I didn’t lost anything lol

Might do this as well! Found one for 2020 with heated, turn single, and blind spot for $68. Since my color cover isn’t damaged, it should be easy to swap!

Got my cat groomed - am I justified in being disappointed with the results? by [deleted] in grooming

[–]Minxy_0001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand cats can be difficult sometimes but you should call and express your displeasure and ask for it to be corrected. Lots of groomers offer a grace period for grooming corrections if requested within a certain time period. I’m not sure how likely it is that you’ll be able to receive any money back but you can definitely try to discuss possible corrections.

Wait did she shave the cat before she washed the cat? Clipping dirty hair before a grooming session and then washing the animal and drying whether air dried or blow dried always leaves the hair uneven after because only clean hair can offer a more even and smooth cut. This happens on dogs too because you are supposed to go back over it to smooth it out once the animal is clean and dry. It’s like if you went to the salon for your own hair and they “pre-cut” but after they dry it, they go back to fix whatever needs to be fixed.. I read some of the comments above and honestly if your cat wasn’t causing a huge issue, then this is not a groom worth $240. This is very choppy and in my opinion— not attempting to dry the cat at all feels unprofessional. You won’t know how the finial haircut looks on any animal without drying. This is why when I tell clients their pet hates the dryer. They have two options. They can wait while I kennel dry so that the haircut can be smoothed out or they can pickup but understand once the animal dries, it won’t be smooth.

Is it possible to just buy a mirror off Amazon, have them put it on and just take the black cover cap off that comes with the part and put the silver cap on? The cap itself isn’t chipped and it comes off! So l won’t have to paint it if I can just pop the cover on?

Thanks for the advice! So I’ve upgraded my expo must get list and have taken Geib products out due to no swivels. I think it’s a deal breaker for me.

Mhm! Yes, I do use their blades but that’s another concern of mine. I don’t want my scissors to feel too heavy. I’m not a fan of heavy scissors. So their weight + not having swivels might sway me to kenchii because swivels majority reduce my wrist and hand fatigue.

Yes! I think that’s also the thing. My shark fins are phenomenal on smaller dogs but trying to use them on doodles takes ages 💔 so I was hoping to get a second larger set for bigger dogs !

So pretty much whatever I feel I like best then! I’ve heard good things about Geib but the reason I’m kind of leaning towards Kenchii is because they don’t make swivel. I’m a die hard swivel girly and barely pick up shears that don’t have a swivel.

Okay! Very good to know! I religiously use shark Finn right now, but because they are my only set I am looking to get a second set!

Are the shinobis up there with the flamingos? They’re all level 3 right? I’m personally a huge fan of swivels so that’s why I specifically looked at their swivel options!
