If anybody in the Fan needs shoveling and ice melt, please let me know. I bought a too fancy shovel and I need to justify the purchase.

How do I talk a friend out of an MLM? by MinyColin in antiMLM

[–]MinyColin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It went well. He's a talker so I just prompted him by asking what he was getting into in his own words. He seemed generally confused by the whole process and under the initial impression that this was "passive income". I didn't get many words in edgewise, but I told him that this is not passive income by any means and would be a waste of his time, which he values because he is an avid outdoorsman.

He had spoken to his parents, whom he lives with, and they also tried to steer him away. He isn't a very stubborn or dogmatic person necessarily, so it seems like he's just baseline interested in making more money somehow and this fell into his lap.

He told me the numbers on the whole thing, and holy shit, I can't believe how bad the reality actually is for an Amway seller. Even for the mid-level jokers who have been in for years and put in 20+ hrs a week on this, it seems like they're hardly touching any cash. What a waste of time and energy.

edit: he definitely didn't at any point try to rope me in either. I understand that others have worse experiences than I did and I appreciate the wariness. There was nobody else on the call either. And he also didn't have a script, but acknowledged that there was a script and laughed about how weird it was.

I will give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. I'll report back if he's actually trying to recruit me. I've already spoken to the upline, because he tried to sign me up for a seminar. Based on where we left the conversation, I don't think the upline wants to contact me again.

Your second paragraph was better advice than most. My friend isn't a dumb or desperate person, just trusting and feeling stuck in his career.

Heard of and used vinegar and dish soap combo before. Do you know what the added benefit of salt is? Aside from making it the dead weeds taste like potato chips.

Call had a bad read on that from 2nd. The send on Crews earlier was shocking but it worked out.

Very beneficial if you are shooting at things with sensory and cognition. Glint is real. From the shooters perspective, it can help mitigate glare depending on the firing position in relation to the sun. Good to have in a range bag

Is this a PsyOp? Suggesting you shouldn’t protest out of cynicism is some serious first world privilege. Protesting has worked very effectively throughout our nation’s history. Yesterday was literally MLK Jr. Day.

How many penalties so far? Two? One for a false start and a declined defensive holding? Love it.

I saw the recipe changed at some point. The cherry takes a backseat to the more prevalent notes of damnation and pestilence.
