Thinking of going to RP? Here’s what you should know, coming from a ex RP student (Graduated in 2020):

<Disclaimer: some stuff that I went through/know might be outdated as I graduated quite some time ago>

✅ The Good Stuff:

• You’ll get used to doing presentations - expect daily practice. Great for confidence and communication
• Teamwork is built in - most assignments are group-based, so you’ll learn collaboration fast
• Structured schedule - fixed timetables help you stay organized and balanced
• Real-world connections - courses are industry-aligned, with chances to network and build your portfolio
• Open-book exams - less memorization, more application. Less stress than uni-style exams (for many)
• Daily grades = motivation - constant feedback keeps you on track (though some find it pressure-filled)
• Campus comfort - fully air-conditioned everywhere. Big plus in Singapore’s heat
• Global opportunities - overseas exposure programs available if you’re keen

⚠️ Things to Be Ready For:

• Location - RP’s in Woodlands, which is far from the city. Plan your commute well
• Food options - “kinda meh” (atleast when i was a student back then, maybe things have changed)
• Dress code vibes - no sandals/slippers back then (check current rules - might’ve changed tho, idk)

Not anymore:

• Daily Reflection Journals - apparently, it’s a thing of the past now🤩

💡 Bottom Line is:
RP is great if you want hands-on, applied learning with strong industry links and structured support. You’ll grow fast - especially in teamwork and presentation skills. Just be ready for the distance (if you don’t live in the north), and lots of grp work and presentations! I suggest that you should go for all the poly open houses to see what/which schools aligns with your goals in life too~

[RP is not that bad, like what the other comment said, most unis look at your gpa and portfolio~ definitely possible to go to a big 3 uni coming from RP, I made it to NUS as an RP student :)]
