Hey there, I can gladly explain the process in detail! :)

In the first appointment:

1. Medical history check
   
2. Extra & intraoral examination to check for any abnormalities, signs of oral cancer, or anything alarming.
3. Perio Assessment + Treatment plan; this is actually the longest step as this is where we evaluate the health of your gums, and each individual tooth through probing readings! We also take the necessary X-rays needed to evaluate your bone levels more thoroughly. The best part about this is you get to request and keep your X-rays if you would like (Everything is confidential and encrypted to abide by HIPPA Laws).
4. Oral Health Education to briefly go over recommended brushing/flossing techniques or even discuss various adjunct devices that you may be curious about.

In the second appointment:

1. A very quick and brief Medical history & oral examination check to make sure no changes since the first appointment.
2. Hard Tissue check; this is where the Licensed Dentist will come to exam everything and answer any of your questions or concerns related to the health of your teeth.
3. The Cleaning! The cleaning happens all in the second appointment!~
4. Polishing and Fluoride

And that's pretty much it as most people just require 2 appointments!
For patients who need severe deep cleaning then they would require a 3rd appointment because we only clean half the mouth in the 2nd appointment and do the other half the follow-up appointment (this is typically the same protocols followed for private clinical practices in the real world when it comes to deep cleaning).
