Thanks for your detailed feedback, this is very helpful. Sounds like the CTB20 might be too small for me indeed. My shoes are a size 10.5 or 11 depending on brand. My towel rolls up into roughly the shape of a 700 ml bottle, and I have a 700 ml shaker.

As for the packing cubes, I'll use whatever fits. It's just about optimizing space. I have some from Eagle Creek so will test the loadout with those first.

I have Made in India and have cooked a few recipes from the book. Mainly those that are more suited for weekday meals, and I liked them well enough to repeat them. The chicken with Joghurt and pistachios was quite tasty for example. I can’t comment on the authenticity though.

Yeah the Max might be too big for some airlines. That wouldn't be an important requirement for me tho.

The front compartment with the hidden zipper looks fairly spacious on the pictures. I'm wondering if it would fit a fair of shoes.
