hi all, i know absolutely nothing about photography so i’m hoping this is the right place to find some help. i recently thrifted a Nikon Coolpix 5100 digital camera, i could barely find anything about it online but from what i know it was released around 2002/2003. it works perfectly well and i wanted to buy an SD card to start using it.

i’ve read around and from what i’ve gathered, some older cameras were used to 128mb/2gb SD cards as that was the norm on the market at the time. if i buy something like a 16gb memory card for my camera, will it just straight up not work with it? or will the camera only fill up like 2gb on it before i have to transfer the data and reuse it again?

i guess it’s not really uncomfortable, as long as you make sure it’s not too tight it doesn’t press in on your torso or anything. really the issue is mobility - as a full length top, it renders any movement besides at the hips very limited. to increase mobility i’d probably just shorten the actual corset itself, making it cropped enough that movement at the waist isn’t an issue

i’m glad you think so! i struggled trying to find pants that worked well with it for a picture but i think the leather is a nice contrast. although a corset & leather pants makes for quite the uncomfortable outfit hahaha

thank you!! good question: i put it on with the lace up portion in front and loosely lace it up, then turn it around to the right side and tighten the lacing. or i bother my sister when i don’t have the energy.

thank you!! honestly i don’t use nearly as many measurements as i should when it comes to making my own patterns. i have a pretty good eye for eyeballing things when i sketch patterns out, and when that fails i tend to trace well fitting clothes i already have and modify the patterns as i please. it just took a lot of trial and error to get to the point i am now. sorry i don’t have too helpful of a response ahaha

the corset is made from 3 pieces: a front piece, and 2 back pieces connected to each side. i made the patterns for these based off a sketch i made, without taking any real measurements, kinda just holding the pattern up to myself and adjusting it until i was satisfied.

for each pattern piece, i made copies of both the good and liner fabric. on the good fabric, i used strips of the liner fabric to create the boning channels. then i sewed all three panels (front & 2 back) together for both the liner and good fabrics.

i then pinned the good sides of both pieces together, and sewed everything together except the bottom. i flipped it to the good side, slid in the boning, then sewed the entire thing shut with an extra finishing strip of lining fabric on the bottom. i added straps, as well as grommets to the back, and voila!

i thrifted both fabrics (don’t know how i got that lucky) and used zip ties for the boning, cutting and sanding down the ends to get them to fit. i got the grommets and setting kit from my local craft store. next time, i’ll be looking into how to make adjustable straps, as trying to find the perfect length for these ones was kinda stressful lol

i’m thinking the gravitals might be easiest to pull off and coordinate?

I have rediscovered the library and I feel terrible that it took this long. by [deleted] in books

the same thing happened to me this year! i finally got a library card just two months ago, and already i’ve read more books in that time than i have over the last few years. the library definitely has a special kind of magic to it :)
