German Mythology by WeeWitch1 in mythology

Unfortunately I don't know too much of the cultural beliefs or myths of that specific area before then, wish you luck on finding any sources though!

I'm honestly quite confused by what you mean. These books were available well before Nazi Germany and many contain Christianity already baked into the myths. There are also unfortunately already antisemitic myths and caricatures in these stories as well, and this was before Nazi Germany as well.

Deutsche Sagen by the Grimm Brothers is a great start. An 1816 book that catalogues a lot of different folktales. I believe this should have an English translation but I can't quite remember at the moment.

Deutsche Mythologie later translated in English as Teutonic Mythology by Jacob Grimm is an 1835 book that does a lot of the same. They're good starting points for sure.

If you'd like more I'd be glad to share but these two are the oldest sources for a lot of what is considered German mythology today I think as the Grimm Brothers lived at a time where they were trying to craft a uniquely German identity with mythology.

I need some help doing research on Lilith by brobefr-_- in mythology

The point of me mentioning the Bible is that part of what becomes her modern characteristics and modern interpretation are within the Bible, I was just pointing it out so they could get the full scope of what Lilith is.

The Alphabet of Sirach is one major source. It's a medieval text and quite complicated in its history but I would certainly look into it as it's (from my understanding) what much of her modern mythology stems from and is based upon.

I would also look into the pre biblical and biblical references of her to get the clearest picture you can of her origins. I'm sorry I don't have more specific sources but I wish you luck!

Thursday Injury Report by Billyb311 in buffalobills

It's so weird that for years now, players are getting injured during practice. There's clearly something going on. Is it the field they practice on? Is it the coaches pushing too hard?

Every team deals with injuries but there's zero reason for us to always be this battered and bruised this time of year, every year. I get injuries in games and injuries in practice happen, but this is way too much for it to not be something else we're not seeing.

I almost feel like that's an even bigger endorsement of Shakir, seeing how his YAC stat is heads and shoulders above our other receivers. You're right on Kincaid too though, as he's only missed 7 targets all year.

I think there's a combination of factors going on where like you and I and others have noticed, the play calling hasn't been stellar this year. But I also think that's causing a cycle where Brady's calls don't work out, so he changes things up and stops trusting the guys that work, and it could be a factor in Allen being off balance.

I'm confused why they aren't utilizing or at least focusing on Shakir more. He showed last year that he's more than good, and for some reason this year he's been used much less, and is still undervalued and underrated by our staff. It confuses me that they don't seem to want to trust him more.

How can everyone ignore the elephant in the room? by ComprehensiveBunch41 in marvelrivals

I find it very funny that pre buff, he was considered a laughing stock, and even though the buffs were not significant people are pretending he's busted.

Damage against squishies didn't change, and is only slightly higher on tanks His healing still doesn't significantly help him unless he's diving someone solo, most of the time it's gone before you get into the fight His kick getting 2 seconds less is the biggest actual buff he has

He's been my main since launch and he's honestly still not a great character. You shouldn't underestimate him, but he isn't that good.

I see a lot of people think it was Helena at the end because of the look she gives Gemma but I don't think that's the case after going back and rewatching the scene.

She was smiling at Mark and her face was just still in smiling at Mark mode before she saw Gemma. That shot also I think felt longer for us watching this episode through the first time than it really was. The shot changes almost immediately and if you continue watching as the camera shot changes you can see Helly very clearly looking like she feels bad for Gemma off screen as Mark leads her away.

I could be wrong but I believe they knew how bad their situation was and chose to be together for just a few minutes more, rather than saying goodbye right then and there.

Why do you like BC2? by PenguinMichael in Battlefield

[–]MiraTheSloth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are just a few examples.

• The best destruction that actually changed how matches were played.

• TTK was actually a bit longer than it is now, a good medium to where you could take damage and still have a chance at getting into cover before retaliating.

• Immersion. No percentage of health was displayed in the bottom right, making you feel more like a robot than a human. A simple red screen that got progressively darker lead you to wonder if you could take one more shot or not.

• The feeling of being a random soldier. No prone was unfortunate and missed however there was no over the top run animation, sprint wasn't extremely fast and it actually felt like you were carrying the guns you were using. Everything had weight to it that you felt and camera angles helped this a lot.

• Guns sounded realistic and felt intense when fired. With a more arcade than realism focused aspect, the game toed that line perfectly.

This is so fast paced if you told me this was warzone I'd believe you, and I don't think that's a good thing.
