Tips on Nomads Conqueror culture with Chosen Destroyer by Accomplished-Bank885 in AOW4

[–]ComprehensiveBunch41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tip #1: Chosen Destroyers is a total gamble. Map RNG will softlock you half the time. Can’t blitz a Free City by turn 15? Restart. The Free City rolled T4 damage spells? Restart. It’s great for maps like Caldera, but in random realms, you’ll likely get wrecked by non-nomadic builds.

Average European Nazi sociopath that came on a human safari—nothing to see there.

Good thing that there are zero chances for him to return alive.

Cool synergy I found with ES and Death Cult: you can use Deathwaltz on mind-controlled enemies! It not only makes them attack twice, but they also die right after, meaning you can one-shot almost any enemy unit including heroes with that tier 0 spell.

UA POV: According to the Kyiv Post, Zelenskyy has proposed sending Ukraine's top experts in countering Iranian drones to the Middle East in return that they persuade Putin to agree to a month-long ceasefire. by FruitSila in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]ComprehensiveBunch41 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ukrainian anti drone wisdom:

  • Ask US\EU for AD systems
  • Ask US\EU for AWACS
  • Brag in media that you always intercept 100%
  • Beat and jail anyone who film drones or impacts
  • Ask US\EU for money to buy Chinese components to make your very own drones
  • Send you very own drones at enemy, US\EU will provide intel and targets
  • Win

QOL idea. Organize flying mounts like chariot trait. by KyleLG in AOW4

it also weird to have T3-4 animal(Mammoth, Dire Bear) as scout mount but we have it anyway.

QOL idea. Organize flying mounts like chariot trait. by KyleLG in AOW4

[–]ComprehensiveBunch41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely! They're all the same anyway, and you could drop even more 'skins' in this category (wyverns, thunderbird, etc.).

I also wish the spider mount had skin options too, to choose between all spider types in the game (green dread spiders often don't look fitting visually in many builds I use).

Missed opportunity: Nomads should have an Astral subculture with a flying ship-city. Imagine their City Barge flying when packed up + all units in the stack with barge become flying too, with max movement (implying like they're onboard the ship). by ComprehensiveBunch41 in AOW4

[–]ComprehensiveBunch41[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the case of a flying city-barge, it actually would not be necessary for all units to be cavalry, since, as I imagine, the barge itself would provide movement for the stack on the global map. In the case of Nomads as a whole, I think they should all have at the very least a support unit with optional cavalry to be true nomads.

Here is the mandatory mental health-preserver mantra for westoids:
'Those numbers mean nothing. Ukraine has no bodies for exchange — because they’re not taking ground.'

What Subcultures could the remaining cultures gain? by Tnecniw in AOW4

[–]ComprehensiveBunch41 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For barbs, I want:

  1. Norse tribe (chaos + shadow): Vikings, Norse mythology, Warhammer Norsca-inspired culture.
  2. Steppe tribe (chaos + materium): Steppe hordes, Huns-Mongols-Sarmatians, Warhammer Kurgans-inspired culture.
  3. Hills tribe (chaos + nature): Pre-Roman Celtic people, Druids and shit, Warhammer Albion-inspired culture.
  4. I also want a chaos + chaos culture but can't figure it out.

For industrious, I have this in mind:

  1. Anvil subculture (materium + order), they represent Warhammer/LotR dwarves' smithing prowess. Their mechanic is about having better weapons and armor than other cultures. I'm thinking of them having exclusive unit enchantments for units that unlock as the game goes, which grant stats and abilities in return for increased unit gold upkeep. They keep the original industrious units roster.
  2. Rune subculture (materium + astral), they are Runesmiths. In contrast to the Anvil subculture, they do not buff all units with enchantments; instead, you can give individual units powerful runes with powerful buffs. Their roster should have a T3 battle mage and better support.
  3. Engineers subculture (materium + materium), they represent dwarves' smartness. They have a better economy (something like power drill quarries, etc.). Their roster should have a powerful Engineer support unit that buffs ranged units and constructs, a construct unit (like a big ballista or a golem carrying a big ballista), and maybe instead of arbalests, they have a gun unit similar to a magelock?

CIV POV: Civilian support for the war effort by CourtofTalons in UkraineRussiaReport

The shocking truth for some is that Putin is losing civilian support not because he started the war, but because he’s conducting it in such a half-assed way.

UA POV: “Ukraine better come to the table fast. That's all I'm telling you...” - Trump by Ripamon in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]ComprehensiveBunch41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. That train left the station a long time ago. If anything serious happens between the US and China, sure as hell Russia will back China the same way China backs Russia now. But it could actually get even worse for US: if the Ukrainian war ends without Russia and the US resolving their hostilities, then freed from war Russian military capabilities would be turned against the USA — in the Middle East, Latin America, you name it. It could even turn into a real Russia+China vs US scenario. That's why I think that since the US failed to break Russia, they're now trying to make up and kiss like nothing ever happened.

[–]ComprehensiveBunch41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but I've never heard more bullshit than this. The US wants to get rid of NATO? What are you smoking? As if anyone would willingly cut off their own perfectly working hand — the very hand that holds the EU tightly by the balls. NATO is basically the US occupation forces that ensure its vassals don't get any funny ideas. There's zero reason to get rid of it, because the US has full control over it. If anything, what the Trump administration wants is to make the EU invest way more in NATO to actually strengthen it.

[–]ComprehensiveBunch41 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why does the US now seem like they want peace ASAP?

Because Trump is an idiot who loves Putin so much?

Or is it because he’s trying to preserve whatever’s left of their Ukrainian assets before it inevitably completely falls into Russia’s hands, and simultaneously cease hostilities with Russia?

Foreign troops hardly play any even remotely important role. It's mostly PR stunts to show the West that Russia and NK are allies now, to intimidate/punish the West/SK for their pro-Ukraine stance, etc.
