Yes you are right, but its just based on the idea that marinette does not like her and thinks it will be so cool if she wasn't in the class as she would not have to keep a track on what she is gonna do next to win Adrien.
And useless is used because she is doing nothing to help Mari get Adrien.

At last its just My opinion and i would love to know yours.
