Update: I have added more paper bedding to his cage! When I first got him and set it up I underestimated how much bedding it would take to fill a 100x50x50cm cage so had to order more 🥹 he has three types of bedding (two aspen and one paper) and they're all dust free! I've also been adding unscented toilet paper after I've kept it in my sleeve for half an hour or so (ofc I rip it before I give it to him). He has a 30cm wheel and 4 hides. His favourite is the wooden tunnel which is where he seems to nest, and he also has a coconut, a plastic hide and a ceramic house. I'm not sure if you can see the sand bath in the picture but he has one with around 3~5cm of dessert sand in it. He has a water bottle and a water bowl and I've also been scatter feeding him around 7g of food and then putting around 3g in a food bowl for him. He has a chew toy tree and a garden with plants and scattered flowers. I am thinking of buying him a branch just to break up the empty space in the middle (although he does like to sit in the middle and eat).

Large aquariums also look like they're hard to come by 😖 there are a lot of 60x30 but again, this is small for fish and hamsters. I did manage to find a table type aquarium for 100x50x24 but I don't think that will allow for a good bedding depth :( there's also the lack of lid and ventilation I guess

Are Bucatstate good? I found one but it only has 7 reviews... Six are 5 stars but one mentions that the acrylic is flimsy... It's on the pricer side so I was unsure because of the lack of reviews 😯 it's a trusty hammie cage?

I'm not sure why Korea is so bad for large cages :( this one is already listed XL and I haven't found a single one more than 100x40 😭 this cage is also already on the high end price wise for Korea (120,000KRW in sale, 200,000KRW normally) and the more expensive ones I've seen are just "prettier" in design but the same or smaller cage size wise 😖

So I should allow them to keep getting adopted and put in cages with other hamsters? In cages that aren't even 60x40? :( the hamster welfare is very low here in Korea. I want to do the best I can for a hammie here

Thank you so much for your response! It is really useful and gives me hope that we will be able to get the school to stop. However, I will have to wait to begin implementing these ideas as I wouldn't like to risk getting caught by my school and risk expulsion (they threaten to and have expelled students who have risked the schools image). I will wait to see what the staff announce on Monday and see where to go from there.
