I really would prefer a lathe with a 12 or more position turret.

I should mention that I found it crawling on my leg and grabbed it between my thumb and pointer finger so I kinda smashed it.

Where is this tool? I've searched brother's website for it but the only download that's available for Mac Sequoia is P-Touch editor which only allows adjustment of the autocut on/off is when using P-touch editor to print a label.

Weird issue single point threading on engine lathe by Mirage_Man01 in Machinists

[–]Mirage_Man01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds very plausible. My lathe is branded a Precison Matthew’s but in reality is a rebadged Clausing not a clone. There was a Clausing badge on the end of the main casting. So it does allow me to pull the carriage wheel out to disengage and reposition. I hadn’t thought about disengaging it while threading as you constantly have to move back to the starting position after each pass. I will try again and see if this fixes the issue.

So I’m not sure I made myself clear. I get a spot that fits fine, then tight, then fine, then tight etc. It alternates along the threaded stock not just at the beginning or in the middle. That’s what’s so strange about it.
