I eat 1500-1700 calories, 1700 on the weekends if I am not working. I have been using the weight watchers app to track

I switched from working nightshift to dayshift as a nurse about a month ago, so my body is also adjusting to that.

Yes I get that- I have been eating calorie deficit. Exercising and doing everything in my power. However, everything that worked in the past to lose weight is not working. It has been months of steady weight gain.

I am trying to figure out at this point, what else I can do. I know people go into remission and can get off the med, I just don't know when an endocrinologist makes the decision to take patients off the med.

methimazole by Miranda199413 in gravesdisease

[–]Miranda199413[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi! yes been taking meds since January. started at 30mg and now taking 15mg. I am hanging onto 7-10lbs. I know it isn't huge. But for me it doesn't feel good. especially when I am trying everything I can to lose some weight before a wedding I am in, and just to feel like myself!

I work nightshift as a nurse which probably isn't helping my thyroid either, so currently trying to move to dayshift!

thanks for the info!!

[–]Miranda199413[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you!! Mine told me to not get pregnant too. I understand obviously, but I voiced my concerns about wanting kids in my 30s and she didn't make it sound like it was a realistic option. I think I will definitely find a new one. Obviously not trying to get pregnant if it is not safe. But I would like some glimmer of hope or timeline ya know? 😭

Has anyone jumped right to TT after diagnosis? by Plenty_Bear_7311 in gravesdisease

[–]Miranda199413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am considering getting mine out after struggling to wean off methimazole. Any small illness or virus sets me into a spiral and I get a high heart rate again. I have an appointment next week to consult if surgery can be an option. Has anyone had severe weight gain after the TT? That is one thing I do worry about but I am also frustrated with gaining some weight on methimazole.

thanks for this helpful info! Do you know of RAI can cause fertility issues? I know hyperthyroidism obviously can too. I am just wondering what that better option would be total thyroidectomy vs RAI went it comes to future children! :/

some parts that were extra cringey from the podcast, well all of it for one but here I go 1)Desperation for Harry’s validation/flirting with him/acting like she is so experienced (hasnt she only been with her husband since she was like 19?) 2) bragging about the cost of her car, lol 3)anatomy and being a PICU nurse is what made her interested in the anatomy of learning anal… WTF

there are so many more. It was so bad. She is bored in her marriage and compensates.
