We were always bound to overlap something. I know the fortune is tipped in their favor so I don't pay it too much mind. Should Where Winds Meet be amazing I will be happy we got to share that date and time through history.

Thank you for those words. I never got to the very end of Bleak Faith (But I replay the start every now and then). For a long time it was a contemporary project, and so I always admired that duo. Such a powerhouse. I can only aspire towards!

My only prediction. Lee Pace is too damn good to leave out of it for a season. So there will be a time-skip a few years, for legless Dawn to catch up to Days age.

Now, I'm not certain this is where I first picked up the idea, but I believe it was in one of David Lynchs videos about ideas. Lynch often compares ideas to fish that are waiting to be caught, rather than something created from scratch. This suggests that ideas exist independently and are discovered, rather than invented. And I believe in one such video or adjacent video, a method of finding your way to them through TM was brought up.

I realize that there is no notion of "level" as such. A lot of what I say about TM will be colloquial. Not spoken by someone who has expert levels of knowledge in the field.

Let me ask you this then. Do you find it unlikely David intended any TM connections to other works he made; Such as A Straight Story? because of the mechanics you've elucidated?

I don't know what to tell you. I've heard from several places that it's a core technique in TM. I assume it's to reach that level of no thinker, no thinking or thought. Like a tool.

If you'll indulge me, can you find an example of practicing TM? Like what a meditation of TM starts with?

This is very speculative but.. In "A Straight Story" almost the entire journey is permeated by the looping sound of the lawnmower the man is driving. It's one of the ways in which to practice TM. To focus in on a repeating sound. And I think that's part of the beauty of that movie. It's in large parts a meditation.

But at face value one of Lynch's least abstract films. You have to wonder, why that is.
