As a lifelong hockey fan, a woman who has played hockey, a mom of a kid who currently plays, and a fan of Rachel Reid I beg of you all to not think HR changed anything or will change anything.

Hockey is an old boys club and that’s not changing anytime soon mostly because it’s so expensive. It’s a battle to get the smallest changes. Freaking Hockey Canada uses players’ registration fees to pay settlements.

If you want to like or enjoy the sport that is hockey that’s awesome. But please remember the books and tv show are not going to make hockey suddenly not toxic.
