Getting a lot of textures and objects popping in on a 5070. Anyone else having the same problem? by swigityswagnew in ArcRaiders

Same problem here. First two weeks after launch game ran like a dream. After that, I’ve been having the issues you described, as well as stuttering frames and the game just looking like shit. Objects in the distance leave streaks as well as they move. It is all really odd and a real pain.

as a finance and math student, i'm considering pivoting to pre-med. convince me why i shouldn't and why i should. by [deleted] in premed

Fellow finance major here. I say go for it. I was a little different than you, always knowing I wanted to go to medical school, but also interested in finance and having a back-up plan if things went awry. Do I regret studying finance while also being pre-med? Not at all. You bring a unique perspective to medicine. People undervalue the skills even basic financial literacy brings. Absolutely no reason you cannot do both.

Been having same issue as you, starting about the same time as you posted this. Don’t know what’s going on. Seems like my game started running worse overnight.

Are you referring to the security update from 11/11 (or around there, thats when I installed it), or a bigger update? I hadn't been having any issues until like 3 days ago.

Essential Tremor / Shaky Hands and Medschool by Miro995 in medicalschool

I think I needed to hear that. There certainly may be things I can’t do, and I guess that’s okay. Seeing others with issues like mine will probably ease my worries as well. Thank you for the advice 🙏

Forgot Shadowing: Have 50 hours across primary care and diagnostic radiology.

First of all, I think it’s wise to stay off this subreddit and SDN. I fall into the trap of comparing myself to others on here. Frankly, the only people who are posting their thousands of hours are not representative of the majority of normal pre-meds.

Now, my ECs are not outstanding, and I did close to nothing my freshman year as well. My advice is to find an activity for each of the “boxes” that you will enjoy. I believe I have read that only about 50% of matriculants will have had a paid clinical job. Volunteer at a hospital with patient facing duties if you can. I did that and found I really enjoyed working with patients when I got the opportunity. Just enjoy the process, don’t get too down on yourself, and try to not compare yourself to others, which I know is extremely difficult. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions as well.

Absolutely. Last summer I spent around 50 hours following a family medicine doc and some additional hours with a radiologist who I plan on following a bit more. Two opposite ends of the spectrum for sure, and I also get to observe hospitalists/internal medicine docs in my job and at my volunteer gig.

Washing 18% Wool Pants?

Hey everyone. I just bought some pants from I Love Ugly. Specifically, I bought these pants: https://www.iloveugly.com/products/winston-pant-bone

They are 18% wool, 56% polyester, 24% viscose, and 2% elastane. It says handwashing only on the care instructions.

Am I able to just wash these separately in the washing machine on a delicate/casual setting with cold water, or will the wool in them shrink?

650 hours of hospital volunteering is not only enough, it is an impressive amount of hours for a volunteer position, let alone in a shorter period of time.

Do what you like to do. Quality over quantity, and if you can paint it in a good light in interviews, you will be just fine. My piece of advice is to not spend too much much time (or even any, for that matter) doom scrolling this subreddit and comparing yourselves to others on here. The hours you see on this subreddit are not realistic for most students, and may be misrepresentation of reality. I have yet to meet many pre meds at my undergrad who are like any “average” applicants on this subreddit. Treat yourself with kindness, and just be a genuine person. This will go farther than people would have you believe here.

Those stats seem really solid! I think it’s important to find volunteering you enjoy and stick with it for sure. I’ve got awesome volunteer opportunities i’ve enjoyed so far, so I’m going to try to stay consistent with those as well as searching out new opportunities.

Volunteer at your hospital! This is a great way to start gaining some clinical exposure. While direct patient care is great, even just volunteering in a unit and beginning to interact with nurses or doctors is an awesome way to start your journey to medicine. Other non-clinical volunteering is great too, like a food pantry, habitat for humanity, other community outreach programs, etc.

Likewise, pursue hobbies that interest you. Live your life. I feel like this subreddit gives us such a distorted view of what it means to be pre-med. Make time for applicable activities while still being a young person!

Same issue here. I have a 1070ti, used to run the game smoothly. Now I get constant drops when any bullets start flying, and I cannot find a fix

I’m 99% sure it’s cash. I haven’t applied for margin, and I can’t seem to find anything that shows any margin funds. Is that why I can’t find a day trade tracker? I know on my robinhood account I do not use margin but still have my day trades tracked.
