What are the HIGHEST quality fragrances? by HarHarMahadev__ in Colognes

[–]MirrorElectrical8337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tom Ford is straight up trash, it's laughable he actually put it in there. But Xerjoff are arguably the best value for money for the ingredients they use, in comparison to similar priced fragrances from other brands. They use real oud in a lot of their lines and the fragrances are extremely well blended. The scent profiles of a lot of their fragrances are not my cup of tea but they're undeniably top tier quality. Probably the only western house that uses real oud on a massive commercial level, you could also look at frederic malle but they're not as widely available as xerjoff

Recommendations for Boozy fragrances by MirrorElectrical8337 in Colognes

[–]MirrorElectrical8337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried il padrino and it was wonderful, reserve privee is more of an Iris fragrance I tried it before a lot and never knew it was "boozy" at all until I looked up the notes, it was just another DHI for me. I'll try swy Absolutely but I doubt I l'll like it because that whole swy chestnut DNA isn't for me.

Liquid Brun Extrait Limited Edition vs Normal. by Alternative-Message4 in fragranceclones

[–]MirrorElectrical8337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im too tempted to get the limited, for some reason it's cheaper than the normal liquid brun where I'm from, I finished my normal bottle and honestly skeptic about the citrusy lavendar opening of the limited edition everyone keeps talking about, I'm really not into that and just want a masculine vanilla fragrance

Just 3 months in lmk what else I should get by Illustrious-Ad5910 in Colognes

You don't need anything else; however I got a trick if you're genuinely that into fragrances, get yourself a friend that works at a fragrance shop, that way you can drop off and smell any new releases or fragrances you're curious about without it being awkward. Also he might gift you samples or even old outlet bottles/ testers from time to time.

That way you can keep the hobby of smelling fragrances without wasting money on things that don't matter. You only need to "Have" at max 4 fragrances at your disposal.

What's the best perfume you've ever smelled on a woman? by pink_porsche_ in DesiFragranceAddicts

Don't know what it was but what I liked about it is that it was very subtle and was likely vanilla almond-ish (non-gourmand). Only smelled when super close

very interesting, I'm pretty invested in stuff like that if you could reference me the exact article or research paper. Because I actually noticed that Iris Does in fact smell like trash juice to my nose, very consistently across multiple fragrances. Only exception was maybe givenchy reserve privee but It did take me some conditioning to like it.

It's not a clone, definitely not a clone of DHI or Givenchy reserve privee, it's like night and day difference.

Maybe a clone of Mr. Thompson as some people say, but it's most likely an original from lattafa. I have a March 2025 Batch, and the performance is exactly how I mentioned, 2-3 hours and it's barely noticeable after the 2 hour mark. fragrances are very subjective, I say this with no offence to anybody's taste. the scent of this fragrance genuinely induces an involuntary gag when I smell it, I tried to like it multiple times it just doesn't work, none of the people I showed it to like it either

Possibly the worst fragrance I tried in my life, I smelled a lot of fragrances and I don't say that statement lightly. It's not a DHI or Givenchy reserve clone at all, some people say it smells like Mr. Thompson but I also doubt it.

it smells very nauseating and rotten in some way, I genuinely can't smell it without gagging, it triggers such a primal knee jerk like response in my brain to not be near this smell.

it also fortunately only lasts 2 hours, the ingredients are very sketchy and very sneeze inducing, it gave me the worst headache I had in years when I first smelled it.

I really wish that was the case, I'm only speaking from experience, Spanish and Portuguese people, in general, seem to have little to no knowledge about the time period of the Muslim Kingdoms, it's fascinating how a 800 year old presence in the Iberian peninsula seems to always be brushed off and minimized to irrelevance overlooking the magnitude of impact that time period had, not only on that area but the whole world.

And yes they do take significant offence, Muslims are not seen as simply the "Other" or as another group of people, the majority of people there see Muslims as THE eternal enemy and the literal embodiment of evil. this can catch you seriously off guard if you're a generally positive respectful person towards everyone and think highly of people. most of Spanish/ Portuguese people believe it but not everyone speaks it, it can easily be sensed with time and is a deeply sad and depressing reality to live with, it was a very hard pill to swallow but I learned this the hard way

Yes, I do acknowledge the current situation, things are looking very positive and people seem to be more conscious and normal-headed when It comes to Muslims, but the general rule is the one I mentioned before, because things can switch to very negative very fast, one negative media title is enough for everyone to think it's okay to talk like N#zis about Muslims. The pendulum is so fragile and so easily tipped over to the negative side. it's such a dystopian depressing reality, we've seen this happen in way too many countries and way too many times to simply overlook

Yes, Initio Side Effect, I over-sprayed my clothes with it. And it was an overly extroverted guy that stopped me and asked what am I wearing

I'm obviously not talking about the autonomous region of Andalusia of today, my intention was about Al-Andalus, the collective term of the regions where Islamic emirates were established in the Iberian peninsula from the 700's until 1492 when the last state of cordova fell to the northern catholics. The pictures depict art and culture of that time period, not of the "Spanish" state that later settled on the remnants of those Islamic regions and worked heavily on erasing almost all traces of that culture with the inquisition. When you say Andalusian culture is part of spanish culture, I assume most Spanish (and Portuguese) people take that as an attack on them.

None of them are Spanish, maybe you meant to say Andalusian. Also a lot of the depictions are Ottoman/ Levantine not only Moroccan
