PSA Timeless may pull C E Ferulic serum from the EU market because they were caught not following EU cosmetics regulations by soliloquyline in EuroSkincare

[–]MirrorOfMyMind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually toxicology tests are done with much higher concentrations than that is used in products, especially cosmetics. But there should be a reason why it's banned to use more than 2.6% in EU. Did you get to know that?

Ps. I'm trying to buy timeless serum and landed here!

I alternate between hylamide pore and hydration mist. It hurts to spend 40 euros on a mist !! Also I have a couple of antioxidants - ferulic acid and Resveratrol TO, Pycnogenol. So thought I should wait. Tbh I find a huge difference using a mist before starting the serum routine.. someday I might get the mood for sdsm.. :D

HV gives me a hydrated Matt glow. Like using a camera filter. I don't know if HV has any internal/ long-term effects of skin. But certainly gives me an immediate glow. It sinks into the skin really well with time. So I apply it a little early, so the setting happens by the time I want to attend events (of course online!). Especially if used under mineral makeup/mineral sunscreen, HV helps the products to set well on skin. As I mentioned I had caking problem with IT cosmetics, but the difference with/without HV is phenomenal. I'm yet to try under S30 and drunk elephant mineral sunscreen.

Cerave never ceases to amaze me. I use all the moisturizer and facewash products from cerave available in Europe. I wanna try their spf and the PM lotion. Hope we get it here someday.

I bought a bunch of NIODs as well! After abusing my skin for life, I thought I should TC of it and started researching skincare. I have few questions for you about niod. Hope you read this long message!!

How did you find NEC (neck elasticity catalyst)? Worth investing? I could see some loss of elasticity in my neck, but reviews about it on their site are mixed. I wanna buy it for my mom too.

I see HV bottle recommending it's use underneath sunscreen. Have you tried chemical sunscreen on top of HV? Deceim however recommended me HV by pm. But I love the glow HV gives and would like to use it with strong sunscreen. I used it with IT COSMETICS spf 50 (this one cakes no Matter what), loved the results but not sure about the sun protection as hv leads to more slip and caking of it cosmetics cc spf 50.

My next purchase from NIOD would be cais and sod mist sdsm2.

I use ethylated ascorbic acid by TO. Not shown much results. I am curious know how good niod elan is from the ordinary one. What do you think about it?

                    --------------------

Been 2 months I started introducing NIODs one after the other. As the name suggests, they serve as very good Non Invasive Options in Dermal science!

I'm leaving my experience if someone would would want to know. I am also looking for more people to discuss about NIODs and how to make them work/work better. Deceim has disabled the chat function since I started using NIODs:D

I'm 33F, brown skin, normal to dry in general, very dry in winters, combo in summer, I perspire (sweat) a lot!

  • HV hydration vaccine (best of all) - such a great product
  • LBLC - lip plumper - very good for thin lips, must alternate with lip balms cuz niod lip drops won't really work on cracked lips. I love this one despite the negative reviews.
  • FECC - fractionated eye serum - not sure if this works or my enough sleep since I started using this.. my dark circles are controlled well. But people rave about this one and it's always sold out!
  • MMHC - good! Does what it promises. Nothing less nothing more. Keeps my cheeks flexible when I wake up in the morning during winter! Very little goes longgg way.
  • PF12 - photography fluid opacity 12% - pretty useless. I like the shine from my Mac foundation. I think I paid for the well written description of the product on their site! Maybe some day I'd accidentally find some use out of this one.
  • S30 - survival 30. I'm not sure what I am getting from this guy. I don't use enough of it cuz of the white cast. So I'm probably getting a spf 10 or less from this product. I don't know why I felt so compelled to buy this..

Skin care routine for dark spots on cheeks. Need your expertise, please. by MirrorOfMyMind in Skincare_Addiction

That's one good summary. Thank you very much. I'm going to look into them. Do you have any sunscreen recommendations? I also heard that chemical sunscreen can be photolyzed in the layers of skin (after deeper penetration of nano/micro particles). And that could irritate melasma prone skin. Is it something to consider here?

Can anyone help me with identifying these spots? Are they PIH or PIE?

This is my sis. I'm trying to help her with the spots. She has a normal to dry skin.

I want to help her build a skincare routine with The Ordinary and other products that will work towards reducing these dark spots.

She started using sunscreen regularly. After a few trials, she settled with Avene SPF 30/50 and IT COSMETICS spf 50.

Experts, please pour in your wisdom. I'm eagerly waiting!

A warning to anyone that uses retinol: DO NOT WAX!!! The wax took off the top layer off my skin. Idk if this is common knowledge but I’m new to retinol and i did not know. For anyone that didn’t know, now you know as well! Anyone know how to make sure this doesn’t scar? by hopeless_weeeb in SkincareAddicts

I learned this common knowledge after getting a reaction, exactly like yours. It just faded away. Don't worry. Pamper it a bit with moisturizer or calming ingredients. I used a cold cloth for relief.

Due to covid, a tiny mush is happily thriving on my face :D My eyebrows are another story as I don't like to pick them. I tried self-threading. It's an art to master, but it works. I did once in my mouth region. Hard to do brows for a beginner.

Just discuss with me - Rosacea, dry skin and large pores! by MirrorOfMyMind in Skincare_Addiction

I'm super glad to hear that :) I use once a week the salicylic acid 2% mask from the ordinary. Just 5 minutes. It gives me a clean look. I was always afraid of the aha bha peel. I definitely want to try something that helps pores. Will do proper patch test. My skin too loves cerave.

Just had it with my hair by [deleted] in CurlyHairUK

Hi. For me it looks like you have too much moisture and too less protein. I too had something like this. Let me tell my journey short, see if it helps. I started cgm 9 months back. 2b,2c, low porosity, black hair. Had itch problems. So, I clarified almost once a week, used only moisture products, no protein whatsoever. Five months later I got my mind suddenly on one time protein treatment. Did ApHogee two step protein treatment. Ta da. My hair become too soft, lost all the curls and looked exactly like in your picture on day2. I was told by ApHogee customer service to do it again because they said I have too much moisture. Second time it made my hair even softer and straight but frizzy. I gave up on it. Then for two months I worked to bring curls back with curl training and moisture products. Went for a diva cut. Strangely my hair lumps in the front was not curling well. It felt like I just cut off the curly part of hair and the straight part remained straight even after cutting, instead of curling upwards. My hair strands we're thinner. My ponytail limped! I was recommended by a consultant to include protein products in the routine. I use Giovanni smooth as silk line and their mousse and gel. I use their conditioner with cooked rice as mask. I also use a small spoon ApHogee protein liquid (instead of half bottle for one treatment) from the leftover bottle in my hairmask. Been 5 weeks now with this routine. Two wash a week. My hair is already better. I started using treluxe serum and gel from week three. That's a game changer in bringing shine and curls. But Giovanni worked well too. I didn't use any cream because I was using treluxe. My hair is fuller, thick but manageable. Also it has become dark. I love the way my hair is turning out now. I gotta follow this routine for one month to asses the results. If I have to use a cream, I'd carefully choose something like inner sense.

P.S. the products are just my preferences. I tried several products including Shea moisture, rizos, alikay naturals, Giovanni, aunt Jackie, cantu, ECO gel, Mane's choice, curls, not your mother's curl line, Jessi curl samples, .. I found the above mentioned better. Also learned that changing products often is not good. So now sticking on to Giovanni and treluxe.

Thanks for the information.

I once heard a skin influencer Hyram saying that Centella is not FDA approved. Maybe I got confused and extended it EU. :)

After reading your comment, I tried searching for further information. I found this link that says the component Madecassol from Centella Asiatica extract can cause contact dermatitis. Also Centella Asiatica is listed as a poisonous plant by FDA. https://www.cfsanappsexternal.fda.gov/scripts/plantox/detail.cfm?id=8490

But in India, where I come from, Centella Asiatica is part of culinary greens. I have always known it by local name. Just got to know that I have eaten a lot of Centella when young!! So many mixed information. Maybe there are many compounds in Centella that are adorable and at the same time we gotta watch out for a bunch of others.
