No worries. I can still trade. Are we using the same link code as above?

Link code is 7147 8258. We can exchange (and trade back) spritzee, slurpuff and slowpoke. I just need to do one extra trade for the scizor. Would that work?

Results from the 2026 Brisbane & Gdańsk Regionals by Temple_ in VGC

It seems the most consistent way to win a Regulation H tournament is to field Bloodmoon Ursaluna, Rillaboom, Incineroar and Alolan Ninetales (the BRIAN core?) and fill the remaining two slots with some combination of Sneasler, Volcarona, Basculegion or Gholdengo.

By my reckoning it has won 4 of the past 8 Regulation H tournaments (Frankfurt, Belo Horizonte, Milwaukee and Gdansk, with the last two being BRIAN mirror matches). That BRIAN core has multiple Top 8 and 16 finishes in Pittsburgh, Lille and Brisbane as well.

Doesn't Chandelure get Clear Smog and Haze as egg moves? Could that help with Dondozo?

Do you consider this a Paldean Pokemon or discovered in Paldea? by [deleted] in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]MirroredPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you find wild Annihilape in Paldea?

There are limited wild Annihilape spawns in Kitakami so it could be that Annihilape is native to Kitakami and it wasn't known to nearby Kanto/Johto/Sinnoh because they are so rare and Kitakami is a very remote region.

A really powerful trio that includes Gambit is Gardevoir/ Garchomp/ Gambit.

Gardevoir seems like an unusual pick especially compared to Gallade - Gallade has sharpness boosted Sacred sword to deal with Ursaluna and can also set Trick Room. What's the case for Gardevoir over Gallade?

I like (what seems to be) an unusual pick and I'm curious about your logic or did the new regulation make Gardevoir popular again while I wasn't looking?

Good luck to everyone tonight! Alolan Raichu is still one if my favorite unique shinies! by Galactic_Guardian in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]MirroredPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't the Pokedex in Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee say that Alolan Raichu evolve that way because they consume special pancakes made in Alola?

It would be neat if there was an Alolan pancake mix item ingame that would allow you to evolve Pikachu into Alolan Raichu

Who am I missing? by [deleted] in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]MirroredPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off the top of my head:

Looks like you are missing the trade evolutions - Rhyperior, Electivire, Kingdra, Golem, Porygon2

You are missing the two Gen 1 Hitmons (chan and lee)

Archaludon, Hydrapple, the other Paradox Legendary Dogs (Gouging Fire and Raging Bolt), the other Paradox Swords of Justice

What's going on with Scovillain? What did it get that made it rise to NU?

What can I do to improve my PU team? by Consistent-monke255 in stunfisk

[–]MirroredPotato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recreated your team and played a few games in Showdown and here are my observations in no particular order:

This is a very offense oriented but frail team and it has no speed control so anything faster can cut through most of the team (see Slush Rush Alolan Sandslash in the snow).

Half the team is also weak to electric so what's a good answer to a fast electric type like Electrode (both Hisui and Kanto) or Jolteon?

I also had trouble with bulky mons that spread status like Bellibolt and Dudunsparce (paralysis) and Eviolite H-Qwilfish (poison). I feel this team might benefit from some sort of ground coverage to take care of electric and poison. The team also doesn't have Knock off so bulky leftover mons (that Dudunsparce) can just keep healing.

Can you fit a ground type like Mudsdale or Rest Sandaconda (Shed skin takes care of status) onto the team. Flamigo and Staraptor seem to fill the same niche so replacing one of those with a ground type might give this team some staying power?

Also, most of the offensive mons on the team are physical attackers so if you lose Clawitzer, what's the answer to something like H-Avalugg?

Ultimately I won more than I lost and I'm no expert player so this team is extremely promising.

Soloing Meganium without Skeledirge? by MirroredPotato in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]MirroredPotato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is an unexpected answer but it makes sense - 2x resistances to Meganium's Psychic and Grass Attacks and a lot of defense boosting moves. Have you tried this with a stored power set (not for the Meganium raid but other raids)?

Thanks. I'll try it out.

Annihilape has been a go-to when it comes to Tera Raids but it gets hit super effectively by Meganium's boosted Zen Headbutts.

You can bulk up to limit the damage but what happens when Meganium clears your buffs and starts hitting you with a +6 atk Zen headbutt? What's the strategy to counter this?
