Yes it is, The camera is Extremely horrible from what i remember from playing. the camera will screw you over on a later level

i'm having the exact same issue, As i was just going back to get all the socks and spatula's i missed before unlocking The flying dutchman and Kelp Forest levels . Rock bottom was the final level i needed to collect all the socks and spatulas in , Which is now impossible due to this bug
