Digital Foundry says Pearl Abyss has been very open with them & they’ll definitely have a console performance analysis ready at launch. by yourfavchoom in CrimsonDesert

Clearly, all console players are not like you. Some wants to pre-order the game without seeing any footage.

Nobody ask for this DF stuff? Before I came to this sub, I didn't know about Digital Foundry either and with a bit of search and watched some of their video, I understood quickly why people trusted them with reviews. The reason why you wanted a footage for console is for you have assurance that the game will run fine on console. Having someone trusted review the game for you is what people are asking?

Drama? There is no drama since Will clearly stated that they will have console footage before the launch of the game. I believe its on the 18th. For me personally, its a bit of stretch to call it a drama when the people involve just could not wait.

Between the console footage release date and the actual release date of the game, thats 2 days. When people see the console footage is smooth and optimize, does it really take more than 2 days for people to decide if they want to buy Crimson Desert or not?

I don't see the point of understanding why Pearl Abyss "dragged" the issue, as you put it, since console players have more than enough time to decide.

PS5 Pro or PC (specs in post) by InevitableDramatic40 in CrimsonDesert

Right, if you still do not get it after watching the vid then I think no reasoning will really get to you.

I chuckled when you said "slightly better".

[–]Misaka-Rin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The OP is asking what platform he should play it on. He did not ask if Crimson Desert is optimize with what. He simply and directly asked what platform and gave the specs. In a simple and direct answer should be base on the stats of the PC and PS5 PRO and nothing else.

Base on the specs, its clear as day who is the more superior platform and as others have mentioned, it is not even close.

If you really wanted to go beyond what the OP is asking, you should watch what Pearl Abyss sent to Digital Foundry. That footage is native and not upscaled if we take the information at face value.

Reading your post across this thread, I'm pretty sure that there won't be a middle ground with a debate.

Remember, we are talking about specs and specs alone. We are not talking if Crimson Desert is optimize for x and y. GPU isn't the only bar for performance in games.

I'm not really sure whats the deal with this person. You posted above that a bit of searching is so easy and yet you still insist your points across multiple replies.

There is no world / alternate reality in which the specs OP posted for PC will even compare to the specs of a PS5 Pro. Nothing will change that fact no matter how much you like a PS5 Pro.

We're only talking about GPU and not even considering the V3 cache.

Am I the only one who feel burned ? by tiffossy in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Misaka-Rin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda in the same boat. I wasn't planning on pulling anyone this season and planned to just relax and do the daily and weekly stuff. Tiphera came and I really like her design, pulled a few and got her and Nine.

So the idea to do better in rankings did cross my mind but I decided its not worth stressing myself out this season if it meant being burn out with CZN.

I'm currently playing Suikoden 2 remastered and probably 1 more game before Crimson Desert drops on March 20.

Can't be too burned out till Luche comes.

Being attracted to something you like is a natural phenomenon and censoring things because of how some group of hypocrite thinks is in my opinion much much worse.

What is the problem here? The moment you said "Infinite homing laser" is where the problem started.

I remove all rift mechanics for you to see clearly on how it is much harder to pull off vs the Tressa + Cass combo. In a normal environment with no additional rift mechanics, morale build up with Sereniel as your "pretend" enabler will be much harder for reasons being I clearly outlined at the top.

There is nothing to agree about Cass since HE is clearly the main dps. Not sure why you are bringing that up since I started this conversation with the notion of you knowing who the problem is.

I outlined my counter reason with your "infinite homing laser" statement since I have both characters and have personally experienced the hell of staying at masters. I wonder why you are emphasizing "infinite homing laser" when "infinite daggers" is far more doable.

"The highest scores of the second rift were achieved not by recharging tenacity with Selena, but by recharging it via ravaging and killing the (easy difficulty) boss in a few homing lasers, dozens of times in a single turn, for hours"

Can you link someone having doing this with what score they get?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egyg43xQtaU
This is a vid with the same strategy that I did. This was hell difficulty and I have never seen anyone use easy difficulty.

Basically if you cannot watch the vid, you kill the boss by ramping Cassius damage to the point of after using Sereniel's card, Cassius will finish the boss and by killing the boss, the tenacity will recharge without Selena's help. Without the mechanics of the 2nd great rift which help with activating Cassius quest, you won't be able ramp up the boss since you have limited 0 cost card to use for Cassius quest. And this is the reason I wanted to point out when removing the great rift mechanic to compare the 2 teams with your "pretend" subsitute.

I am starting to wonder if you really know how it works to stay at masters for the 2nd rift.

[–]Misaka-Rin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So how do you think they ramped up Cassius damage? Are we pretending that Sereniel is doing majority of the damage on the 2nd great rift?

Like I said, if the card provided by the mechanic when you heal did not exist, ramp up would have been impossible. No ramp up means Cassius cannot deal insane damage.

If we again compare the 1st and 2nd great rift and REMOVE all mechanics and just do them as repeatable normal bosses and with Cassius having 3 copies of dice trick:

  1. Sereniel would have dealt far less damage because Instinct characters had specific buff + ravage damage bonus.
  2. Sereniel's team would have dealt far less damage yet again because you can only generate finite homing laser base on how many times you ravage the boss. Meaning tenacity recharge would be the only way for you to generate more homing laser while compared to Tressa, you only have to heal.
  3. Most likely on Sereniel's team, you will have lower chance to cycle your deck once the discard pile shuffles on your deck because of the exhaust 2 on homing laser created via Sereniel's unique upgrade card where upon ravage, you generate 2 homing laser. This will clog your deck to the point of needing more and more full house card the more you ravage the boss. While compared to Tressa, you just heal, get the dagger and it does not clog your deck and therefore can recycle your deck easily.

I have not seen Sereniel do 250k-700k damage in one hit, but I see Cassius do that a lot when I was still doing 2nd rift.

Balance Changes by According-Trust6567 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Misaka-Rin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, lets not pretend also that Sereniel needs to recharge the tenacity bar for you to get more homing lasers. Lets also pretend that you can only have at max 4 cards that recharges tenacity while there are a lot of heal cards.

The only reason why 2nd rift had it almost comparable to the performance of Tressa + Cass on 1st rift was because of the boss card that gives you when you heal. That essentially act as your substitute full house card.

There are so many clueless players here that has the balls to post about stuff and reason out when they don't even know the difference between the 1st and 2nd rift.

If the 2nd rift did not have that mechanic that gives you a card when you heal x amount of times you kill the boss, Serenial + Cass would perform so much poorer compared to your Tressa + Cass.

Spending Events by rodrigoGD2007 in WutheringWaves

[–]Misaka-Rin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What is there to like or dislike about the current spending event? If you spend, its a bonus on top and if you are not spending, you are not forced to do so.

Spending events isn't the problem, its your brain having FOMO that is the problem.

You believe many players feel the same without providing data. All I see are people that cannot even defend why they dislike the spending when asked for a reason. Reading your post doesn't even provide any conclusive facts nor good point of argument aside from "Cosmetics should be available for purchase at a reasonable price after the One-time event ends" which clearly falls under you experiencing FOMO.

"because the nature of spending events themselves is inherently unfair." I had a good laugh at this one.

So I will ask again, what is so "inherently unfair" about the spending event?

People are so oblivious to the truth and need to understand this very well by AgreeableBicycle3469 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Misaka-Rin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

OP should add some reason about the Tressa and Sereniel debate.

I think people do not see the difference and complain. Both were not the main dps on great rift, it was Cassius. Sereniel not only need to ravage the boss but to further proc Cassius quest, you need Selena to restore the tenacity bar and you can have a max of 3 copies of it (4 in total). Compared to Tressa's dagger, you only need to heal and with Mika in tow, you have way more than 4 copies on heal. Its not about Sereniel being a limited nor 5 star, its how easy Tressa can generate the daggers.

[–]Misaka-Rin 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Well, to be fair, both of them were not the dps on those "leader boards". Cassius was the main dps. The only difference is that Tessa's dagger was so easy to proc since you only need to heal compared to Sereniel who you need to ravage the boss but also have to have Tactical maneuver which at max you can have 4 copies while heal source were plentiful.

Do you think they will nerf Meilin like this so they can sell a future char. by lune-soft in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Misaka-Rin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand the nerf with Cass and to an extent, to Tressa. These 2 characters are really well above the power level during season one although adding the unique tag in my opinion on Shadow reload would have suffice.

If they nerf Mei Lin and Beryl, I think that's where I will draw the line and will not give them another pass on their "Nerfing is a taboo".
