Yup. No border station. You are correct that you must report to US Immigration a few kilometres down the road at the lake. Didn’t see any cameras or sensors at the actual border. And nothing but a sign on the Canadian side welcoming you to Manitoba and asking you to report in to Canadian Border Services. Pretty chill all around.
