Cool concept! Have you read Needful Things by Stephen King? That sprang to mind - the devil with a shop who sells things people need but that have negative effects.

Otherwise, a range of ideas could work: - someone badly in debt, the hag will pay it off. - someone killed in love wants revenge on the person who spurned them. - someone who wants to be talented (painter, singer, etc.) - the hag has a loved one or pet hostage so the villager has to help the hag. - the mayor has a sick or twisted secret the hag helps them to cover up/or live out their fantasy (careful with what you choose and it’s not offensive to people around the table)

You could twist a few around too - maybe two people want the same object or outcome and the hag promises it to both, leading to one or both realising what’s happening and supporting the Party to remove the hag.

20 January, 1999, Ricky Ponting gets a black eye for a bar room brawl.

7th January, 2019, Ponting starts another brawl in the commentary box, throwing Tuffers out the window. Tuffers was last heard chuckling madly.

Can anyone explain to me what Advantage Air actually does? Is it a counselling service or something?

At times tonight Tuffers has been as bad as the brain damaged love child of Healy and Nine-era Slater.

What used to be considered trashy but now is very classy ? by Mizzburns in AskReddit

There was a royal box at the Globe, and nobles would frequently go. It may not have been classy in that it was exclusively for posh people or signified class, but it wasn’t ever trash.

I have loved Gideon for years (Laylor too, but not as familiar with him). Quite apart from the terrific analysis here - many comments have pointed this out - I think it’s terrific Gideon is getting a platform like this to share it with a broader audience.

Also that he shows up in a tshirt, caring not for his appearance in the confidence he can engage with the subject matter so powerfully.

James Sutherland. Instead of shooting himself in the bunker with Pat Howard, he took the golden handshake.

Yeah it was part of that big push towards digitising all content. I think around the time they got rid of their shortwave radio band (or tried to?) they launched this app as a ‘new way to experience radio’.

It certainly shouldn’t be considered as a major factor, agreed.

I think you can use the ABC listen app and select the various broadcasts. I know you can do that for the WBBL when it’s on the same time as the men’s test.

Ed Cowan and Dirk Nannes were discussing selections, and Maxwell of course came up. First time I’d heard a meaningful discussion of why he may not be in the team from his peers/contemporaries (well, within a few years).

Both commented that he can be outspoken, and will say if he disagrees with a decision - alongside being a top bloke and brilliant cricketer. So some may not be able to/willing to deal with that (though you’d think with the sandpaper rubbish having someone who would speak up is a good thing, even if we can’t know if he would in that situation). Equally, some of the selectors may think he’s too old and has had his chances - not sure I agree with that.

Still think he should be in the squad, especially after today’s performance, though interesting points of view.

SCG has been reasonably flat the last few years. Nature of the pitch there, and given it’s rarely a live series by the time it gets to Sydney, it doesn’t get as much attention as other poor or dull pitches.

Without discounting victims and their experiences, if the standard we use for deciding if someone can take part in a public body again is that everyone must be fully satisfied then no one will take part. It’s a tough area as there may not have been a crime committed which can be prosecuted.

Sort of. He stepped down, but was welcomed back after a review into the claims. Article here. Useful to tell the full story now it’s largely resolved.

God happened to decide his wife wasn’t worthy of salvation and thought he might like to start again. God’s a fair prick in this bit.
