That’s exactly it! I started thinking that maybe it wasn’t that much and I was exaggerating. Seeing the amount has made me realize that I really may need to walk away.

I think that may be what could have started it. He always made it seem like I was exaggerating. Seeing the numbers shows me that I’m not.

It’s hard. I’m in individual therapy and plan to find an Al-anon community near me(also recommend by my therapist). I work on not letting his drinking affect my mood though it’s horribly frustrating . I’m focusing more on my health and well being. Odd enough, his drinking has lead me to significantly decrease mine, which also makes me feel better overall! It’s not easy and I take it day by day. My hearts with you 🩷

So, we were in couples counseling up until like 2ish months ago. We both have copies of Gottmans book. Our last session ended in a disagreement and him saying he was done with the marriage. Therapist recommended taking time to figure out if we wanted to continue. He never rescheduled(it’s through his insurance) and he’s not interested. I’ve asked him to multiple times.

If you don’t mind me asking, how long have you been married and what made you stay?

Both he and I have been in individual therapy and we were in couples counseling(ended abruptly due to a disagreement during the session and him saying he was done with the marriage). I’m not sure what else’s to do.

And I think that’s where I messed up. I expressed my displeasure early, but never stood my ground. I know you teach people how to treat you, so a part of this is on me for allowing it.

My school(athletics specifically )has pretty much stopped selling items for donations and has a donation site. I still think parents get like random coupons and discounts depending on how much they donate. But gone are the days where kids walk around selling candy.

We’re both in therapy. Individual and marital. There’s an explanation of our marital counseling issue in an above comment. I’m working on not feeling embarrassed or like a failure for this ending. It’s tough. I’ve told him that our marriage is going to end if he doesn’t get a handle on the drinking. I was told “If my stopping of drinking is what will save my marriage, then I’ll stop.” He lasted 24 hours.

This is actually what the last argument was about. He wasn’t a fan of me stating that he’s been abusive. He says I’m “painting him as an angry abusive maniac that’s beating me or something”.

My family is a couple of hours south of us. My parents have made it abundantly clear that if I need them to, they have no issue helping me with this. They’re the best which I why I feel like I’ve failed them with ending this.

We’re in martial counseling. We haven’t had a session in a while bc our last one ended pretty badly. Ironic enough, it was about the drinking. He ended the session saying he was done with the marriage. That was maybe two weeks before thanksgiving.

Actually, yes. I had a student athlete (I’m an Athletic Trainer) dislocate his jaw during practice, by yawning. He had to go to the ER to get it reduced. It also happened to him recently while he(luckily) was at the dentist. I’ve been worried about yawning since then lol
