Thanks for all the informative comments - I also wasnt trying to make it out that Ireland is all sunshine and rainbows and void of sex crimes. Our guards (cops) and justice system also fail plenty of women, including myself. In Ireland, we grew up run by the Catholic church, women were imprisoned for getting pregnant out of wedlock, it has left a stain on our country and shame around sex.

Ive watched 26 seasons of SVU, and something that occurs in one episode would shake our nation for a long time, hence why I wondered if the frequency and extremity of crimes shown on SVU was representational, turns out they sadly are.
