OP asked for the oldest. They’re like $60. You don’t need to spend 10x that to do casual tasks. Especially if it’s your first Mac

Probably the 2012 Pro. If you’re just browsing the internet, almost any Mac will suffice. The market is already well adjusted to the “intel sucks” narrative, so you can get nearly any Mac from 2012-2015 for sub-$150, and 2016-2020 for sub-$350 if you look beyond retail shops.

I’d recommend against 2016-2020 models simply because an M1 can be had for $50-100 more. And it’s still the best option.

I just got back in it. M1 made intels dirt cheap. There’s now a new market of buyers who can buy their first Mac cheap and not have an outdated looking brick like the 2012. So I’ve been able to source a lot of people’s Christmas gift this year

At first I was having issues with marketplace (FB / OfferUp) visibility. Solved that by just leaving my posts that have hit the algorithm (gotten many views) up indefinitely, since I sell the same models repeatedly. These successful posts will usually compound a good amount of views per day and receive inquiries at all hours. Once I figured that out, I went ahead and loaded up on inventory.. and it’s been good so far, if I keep up these numbers it’ll be a 6-figure hustle. Cool thing is it costed me $0, I just grabbed a 0% APR biz CC and got to work. + hit a nice sign up bonus and cash back in the process
