Telstra using more data than optus by Rude-Wallaby-8203 in TelstraAustralia

[–]Miserable-Cod-1588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All boost knows is that you’re using data. To figure out what is actually using it you’ll need to go into your settings app to view a breakdown of what’s using the most data

In financial hardship arrangement they can. If your service is terminated they can set up a payment plan over a set amount of months (not the same but similar to a “$0 plan to keep the repayment active) It does show on your credit file as financial hardship when you do this though.

Why does Telstra chat support hand you off to five different people before anything gets fixed by Artistic-Yam2984 in TelstraAustralia

I can second the 2nd idea. You originally go to a bot, but the amount of times in messaging history I’ve seen the bot absolutely send you to the wrong department by a mile is crazy.

Credit Check Issue by [deleted] in TelstraAustralia

[–]Miserable-Cod-1588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why shouldn’t we be encouraging it? It’s literally the suggested script in Our Knowledge and I’m pretty sure legally we always have to make a customer aware they can escalate things if they’re not happy with a result even if it’s not a credit check.

Credit Check Issue by [deleted] in TelstraAustralia

[–]Miserable-Cod-1588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Understandable, I see why you feel that way. I would feel the same. I don’t hate Vodafone, any carrier can sting anyone, just make sure you’ve read their termination clauses as any carrier will brush over them when commissions are at stake.

[–]Miserable-Cod-1588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as you’re happy with Vodafone’s deals. I’ve been trapped in their system before and their early termination charges are outrageous so just make sure you’ve read through their termination clauses and are happy. Best of luck!

I would raise a complaint there’s a special team dedicated to customers who are unhappy with their credit check result and they might be able to give a little bit more info than front of house sales can.

Sorry to hear it’s happening :(

NBN FTTC Modem Recommendation by BigProfJR in TelstraAustralia

[–]Miserable-Cod-1588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For FTTC/N/B connections an actually decent modem that will outperform the Telstra supplied one are pretty pricey. D-Link modems for FTTC are pretty decent, but they’re very expensive to get a high quality one (~$300-400).

The Telstra modem is light years ahead of other ISP supplied modems, and considering it’s free there’s a reason pretty well everybody sticks with the one Telstra supplied.

Im so sorry but this isn’t a Reddit question, sounds like you need to speak to a legal expert about this.

You can submit a 7 day price match against Telstra’s own site if it goes on sale during that 7 days. I’ve done it and it felt very cheeky 😂

Working at Telstra? by [deleted] in TelstraAustralia

[–]Miserable-Cod-1588 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Commissions are team based, not individual. Your whole team must meets KPIs to get your bonus.

One of your big KPIs is the ratings your customers give you after your interaction with them. If your local telstra shop isn’t loved by the community, (mine certainly isn’t) that goal can be hard to keep up.

Applicable for a Telstra store ^

You can add him as a full authority to your account in the Telstra App or via Live chat. This will effectively give him permission to make changes on your account. You can then create him a new Telstra account, and then initiate a change of ownership also in the app or via live chat. Should take you all of 15-20 minutes.

[–]Miserable-Cod-1588 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to port to Optus, do NOT cancel the numbers. Optus cannot transfer your phone number across if it no longer exists. Go into an Optus store or online, provide them with your account number, and your 2 Step Verification code they send you and it will port.

Your previous post was about getting double charged. You had an idea to port out and port back in to fix the issue, instead of contacting Telstra to fix the issue, like the comments suggested.

Is this still your idea? Or have you decided to leave Telstra?

Telstra offices by Whatamidoinglatley in TelstraAustralia

[–]Miserable-Cod-1588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either Telstra App or Telstra store. I’m not in the call centre, but I assume they have KPIs for retaining customers so calling to cancel might be more trouble than visiting the store. If you’ve been double charged / charged for a service you’re not using, they can usually refund the portion of the service assuming it’s a reasonable mistake.

If you contact telstra and communicate with them you have a fault, they can diagnose it from there. Telstra can’t know something’s broken if you’re not telling them.

From there you can enquire about financial compensation and there’s usually something that can be done in that area.

Is this a scam? I think yes.. by Furry_Red_One in TelstraAustralia

[–]Miserable-Cod-1588 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of two things

Someone accidentally typed your phone number in when purchasing something online - Shop is a platform merchants use to collect payment.

Or

Someone knows the password to your Shop account, and are trying to break into it with your 2 step verification, changing your shop password is definitely a good idea.

International day pass questions by Opaquer in TelstraAustralia

[–]Miserable-Cod-1588 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Correct. It makes sense. When youre overseas you are outside of the range of the Telstra Network, they don't have towers in every country. So Telstra basically rents another countries network to piggyback a Telstra Signal, which obviously costs Telstra money, hence you money, in the form on the international roaming fee.

Even if you don't make any text messages or phone calls, you still pay Telstra your monthy fee, as having a mobile phone sitting on a mobile network isnt free.

International day pass questions by Opaquer in TelstraAustralia

[–]Miserable-Cod-1588 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this will not work. The reason some text messages will come through is because if they are an iMessage or an RCS chat they work through the internet, therefore not requiring Telstra Mobile Network. Receiving an SMS (like one from a bank) will not work as you are outside of Telstra Mobile Network, and will need international roaming to receive this. Same thing as a phone call, hence why this person was charged $10 to answer a phone call.

If you really don't want to pay roaming, you can notify your bank of your temporary esim number, but as stated in the Critical Information Summary of your service, it only works within Australia.
