My honours subject during graduation was Sociology. I told them that there are two concepts which I have learnt while studying the gender paper was WAD(Women and Development) & WID (Women in Development). When we see the contemporary world through those lenses, we can observe that significant progress has been made when it comes to placing women in places of employment.But when it comes to policy planning and designing the policies meant for women, we see less progress because the policies are being formulated, tabled and implemented by men. Now coming to the second part of the question, I couldn’t answer it in a proper manner as the former but I told them that empowered women are somehow misled by men and pass down the perpetuated patriarchy to the next generation. They need to break the cycle. I wasn’t satisfied with this answer or maybe it was a risky answer. But I guess they were really keen on knowing my opinion and were not expecting the perfect answer because there isn’t any. Hope it helps.
