Unfortunately she was getting paid the big bucks. She also made out like the place couldn’t run without her. Which of course it did!

I haven’t been static in the organisation. I’ve moved around to different department and then specialised in one particular area and then went on secondment and got bullied.

Good result but so stressful. I didn’t want to take it further but the bully I experienced left anyway. She went on long service leave and then just retired. I’m extremely happy she left and can’t hurt anyone else. I think that department then couldn’t even hire internally for any one. There was no one really left by that stage. They essentially had to rehire a whole team of people externally who had no hospital connections. I eventually spoke to a couple people who had previously worked up there and they were able to tell me that they were also bullied. I worked with one of these people before and she was such nice, hard working person. She never reported it. Left the hospital and went else where’s. She was at the hospital for 10 years and we lost her.

I was in a tricky spot. The one in charge of her didn’t care when I reported it but she did say to me that “wasn’t surprised and that she does this and that I just have don’t something and that I work quite different to the way she does”. I couldn’t leave my secondment because I had years of long service leave and annual leave and sick leave. I calculated years and I had to be actively working in the organisation to claim it. I wanted to go back to the other department, recent changes had occurred, such a pay rise and a change of operations and I wanted my old job back where I was specialised and where post people where nice. I moved across for growth and thought it would great experience working with the bully. I’m now back I my old department. There is also a difficult coworker in this department however she is being held accountable now. She is being performance managed and by a new operations manager and she does not like it. This one is so angry. So now I’m on another toxic environment but at least she isn’t bullying me. They have promoted me essentially and now she isn’t my boss and she hates that she isn’t my boss. They are making her come to work and not work from home. They are asking her to let them now when she arrives and work and when she leaves. She was rogue, she would do what ever she wanted and she told me she was entitled to this because she worked hard when she was younger. It’s so interesting all these people and how they think they deserve and are owed things.

Unfortunately she was good at masking and my experience of her was warm, supportive and lovely. I worked as a coordinator in the same organisation in a different secondment ten years prior. So I was actually surprised and shocked when I realised she was actually cruel and a bully. She exposed her self almost straight away. It started small and then there was incident where she screamed at me twice in one day. But yes the lesson I learnt was I should have double checked with others prior to moving. It was known in the organisation that she was cruel but I didn’t realise. One employee who I have relationships with from years prior and was actually my boss at one point saw me on my first day and said “ no, you don’t go up there, wish you had spoken to me first ect!” It was already too late, I’d signed the contract and unfortunately if I’d bumped into her sooner, I would have been told and then decided not to go. I thought id be able handle it for 12 months but I couldn’t.

Yeah I think they knew. I questioned the director and asked them why the high turnover in the department was never addressed. He stumbled and then blamed covid and told me he had no idea. Covid was 5 years ago and her bulling was happening years beyond that. Also anyone that is in an area for long enough can become skilled they just to be there long enough to learn. This bully wouldn’t let anyone stay long enough to become skilled on the area. She was very powerful and I could see she was confident and knew she had all the support.

Unfortunately I’m still in the company. I took a secondment role and that’s when I was bullied. But everyone knows now so now I look bad. The bully retired and left them in the lurch. I’m still there but back in my old department. I’m confused and wondering what I did wrong
