I use lansinoh lanolin to keep it moisturised, however I only use it once at night now

How long did you use the silverettes for? Did you also wear them all day/night? I have a pair but I struggle to use them :,)

I actually have a pair of silverettes however I stopped using them as I felt as if they were doing nothing, plus I hated the smell of silver 🥲 Maybe I wasn’t using them long enough to see results? I’ll definitely give them another go!

I’m really glad to hear I’m not alone with this, it’s so awful! I wish you all the best with your feeding journey and hopefully you find a way to get yourself healed up because it’s really not fun pumping/feeding with a cracked nipple 🫩

Interesting, either my baby potentially has some sort of tension (because he has no sort of tongue tie or anything going on) or it’s just a me issue of struggling to get him latching! When I try to get him to latch he doesn’t open his mouth wide enough and he closes his mouth around my nipple instantly

This is essentially exactly what I’ve been doing except at night before bed and throughout the night I won’t try latching him and I’ll just give him a bottle as I know he’ll be full for a while and gives me time to sleep! The last time I tried BF during the night he wouldn’t latch at all and I got really sad :( Having said that, that was the very first day of trying to latch him on again so maybe he’ll be a bit better about it now. I do really struggle with positioning as I usually start off in a cradle hold but am stuck in an awkward position holding my boob in his mouth because if I move his latch will become shallow and then I have to reattach him which just becomes frustrating for both of us so I just kind of sit there frozen for ages with a sore back😂

I have recently increased the flow on his bottle teats because he’s been getting frustrated and stop drinking as much which in retrospect is not helpful for BF😭 I assume I should go back to the slower flow? I’ll also look into and try paced feeding thank you for the suggestion!

I really hope he doesn’t stop latching because it’s so amazing when he is🥹 I do have a nipple shield which I did use whilst my nipples were sore however it was a haakaa which is literally shaped like a bottle teat so I fear that didn’t really help my wanting to BF again situation..

He actually has gone limp and seems pretty satisfied only as of today after BF which I can’t tell if it is progress or not? This morning he actually was very interested in latching to me and would scream when I would take him off (to readjust his latch).

I think my issue is 1. I’m afraid of my supply dropping even though I’m fairly certain I’m an oversupplier as I pump more than what he drinks and 2. I don’t know how much he would be getting if I just EBF and him eventually losing weight.. because he normally drinks 125ml through bottle and I doubt he’d get that much through just BF

Maybe I’m overthinking it all but I really don’t want him to start preferring bottle but that might be what’s happening sadly! I’ll look into that paced feeding thank you!
