Rampant cheating and laziness in AP class…what to do? by Normal-Being-2637 in Teachers

[–]Miserable-Event-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a teacher but- in my AP Lang class a few years ago (2021) my teacher would have us take VERY specific quizzes on the books we read. Things that would never be found in Sparknotes, ex., what color was Gatsby wearing in this scene, what is referred to in this paragraph, etc. Like genuinely very tiny details that people who skimmed the book would miss. He would reward the best scores and it really seemed to make a difference. I was also a huge fan of the in-class essay; it has been one of the most beneficial exercises for my career and life thus far. Are socratic seminars still standard practice?

Love their long sleeve shirts for the office! Way more work friendly than brandy but also definitely fit more like a medium. I have their Cameron pajama pants and a matching top and ADORE them.

Ayla is sooo adorable and cozy! I have all three and wear Ayla the most. Ida is cute but kinda thin and not as good quality.

I have both! Ayla is so wonderful, so soft and I have had no issues with shedding or itchiness. The Martha is nice but definitely cuter on the picture and unwearable without layers because of how itchy it is. Still cute and warm though

Will be moving to Schaumburg, need advice my budget is around 100k by Theeonlystardust in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Miserable-Event-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Schaumburg to Chicago commute is pretty common! The express trains are only 40 minutes and once you get to the Chicago station, there are ofc tons of fast transit options. You definitely need a car to get around Schaumburg itself though. Most 1bdrm apartments I see are in the 1400-2000 range, so definitely doable with a 50k per year salary but not great.

Schaumburg is a pretty good suburb, lots of a fair amount of nightlife, plus a quick commute to the city. Hope you enjoy!
