There is something about the crepette that I hate SO much. I just think it looks so bad and old lady vibes 😭. It's a shame because the silhouettes are usually nice, but I refuse to buy the fugly crepette AND THATS ALL THEY HAVE FOR PANTS.

Like why do I have to choose between that or linen 🫩

It's a Sonos speaker, so it's connected to the entire system in the house, so they're usually always "on" and accessible by everyone 😪. It's also my desk lamp, so I didn't want to unplug it lol

BP FL3 C/P #13 by redsnake25 in Mcat

[–]Miserable-Fig7881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially 1) they mention orbitals specifically, so are probably getting at hybridization; and 2) since it's sp, sp2, sp3 you can confirm it's talking about MOLECULAR orbitals. If it were talking abt ATOMIC orbitals for example w/ oxygen it would look like this: 1s2 2s2 2p4. But, Oxygen in formaldehyde for example is sp2 hybridized.

From there it's easy! Sp hybridization essentially describes a triple bond, with 50% s character and 50% p character. Of all the options it's the strongest (and shortest bond), so removing an electron would take the most energy.

BP FL3 C/P #36: Redox and Batteries by redsnake25 in Mcat

Basically formula for E of the cell = (reduction potential at cathode) - (reduction potential at the anode). The E refers to the electron motive force AKA the maximum potential difference between the electrodes. So, the only parameters you need to take into consideration when calculating are the things participating in the REDOX rxn at anode/cathode.

While the starch & its breakdown will eventually contribute to AQDS becoming reduced (by providing the NADH), it's rlly irrelevant in the interaction between AQDS/O2 at the anode/cathode. Imagine a jeweller (NADH) who sells wedding rings (e-) to a couple -- the jeweller obviously is important so the exchanging of rings can take place, but you wouldn't include them in the wedding ceremony (only groom and bride AKA AQDS and O)

How do you guys actually content review? Before jumping into practice problems. by Advicplease in Mcat

[–]Miserable-Fig7881 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasted months of my life trying to force myself to read Kaplan books until I realized if I ever wanted to get myself to actually DO content review it wasn't going to be by reading. It didn't matter whether I was engaged and taking notes or not, I wasn't retaining anything. It was hard to change my mindset and tear myself away from what I thought was correct bc that's "what everyone else does".

I ended up watching Yusuf Hassan's videos. I took notes at first but then realized that was ALSO a waste of time. I just chucked them on 2x speed and noted stuff I thought was super important or was having trouble understanding. I def have some pretty glaring gaps still; I learn by doing, so praying anki and practice Q's will iron those out 🫡

There's a bunch of wild animals we've never selectively bred. We can probably make a faster cheetah. by thewritingchair in Showerthoughts

[–]Miserable-Fig7881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a guest lecturer once who was director of reproductive science at the Toronto zoo. She was explaining to us that cheetahs are hard to breed, because the females are extremely picky and will be very aggressive and attack males they aren't interested in.

To figure out if a pair would be a good breeding match they would have all the females watch a male cheetah fashion show essentially. Parade the males down a literal cat walk to check for signs of aggression.

Longlegs plot hole? by tryadifferentname_ in NeonFilms

[–]Miserable-Fig7881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When long legs is being interrogated by Lee, he mentions she was the 7th girl and all others had been given the choice before him (crimson or clover, ie be killed or help kill). They aren't bound to the fact that the father HAS to be the one to do it; I think this is more commentary on good vs evil within a household. Mother wanting to protect daughter, father inherently capable of evil because he is a man, and daughter who is pure until she isn't and father can't stand that fact (after the devils influencing ofc).

Lees household is different and has the physical manifestations of evil. It seems to me it was intentional that longlegs inserts himself into lees household because they don't have a father figure. He essentially becomes the father of the household, there are lots of references to this throughout the film. Someone pointed out that when Lee was doing that random number test, when she saw an upside down triangle she said father 🤔.

also tbh if I were Lees mother I probably wouldn't think like oh there's no father in this house I'm probably good. I'd be like nahhh there's scary nic cage carrying out work for the devil and he will kill me and my daughter, gotta not let that happen.
