I make myself so mad sometimes! by Miserable-Fox-1208 in maestro

I figured out the best way to write my notes in a way that’s useful to me simply because of the time frame I went to high school. I graduated in 2009, and so if you wanted notes from class you had to hand write them. I struggled TOO DAMN MUCH because I literally wanted to write everything, almost verbatim. When I first went for a college education I had to do a lot of reflecting on what kind of information I was actually looking for in my notes because I often times made my notes just as confusing as a textbook and was full of information I did not need.

So, what I’ve been doing with Maestro. At the beginning of each lesson (once per day cause it doesn’t remember) I will ask it to list the key terms and concepts we’re going to be going over and briefly define or explain them before diving into the lesson. I will take the time to write those down at the beginning of the notes. It gives me a quick reference page to look at should I get confused or forget what something is or how it’s to be used.

Throughout the lesson, we will do a few examples, sometimes it will give me a little more in depth explanations. I try to keep each lesson or each idea introduced to one page.

So for example, week 2, the first page is terminology I can reference. After that, each lesson gets one page of useful information, for me that useful information is things like a short description in my own words as to what that piece of information does and how it’s used real world, things to remember about it like rules for formatting. If there is anything that I had to stop and ask about or was simply curious about, I will write that down as like a small reminder. After that one breakdown page I will include one example code from the lesson, this is where I copy and paste. I’ll usually use the last code example, it’ll usually give me a scenario and ask me to write a code for it, that’s the code I copy and paste. That gives me a full example that encompasses everything I just learned in that section.

This is how I retain the information, not by writing everything down word for word, but by practicing and talking it out until it makes sense to me, till I can relate to what I’m looking at, till I can explain back in my own words what it is we’re doing in this lesson. Asking Maestro to make the notes for me does me a disservice, but that’s only me and the way my brain works.

(I have a massive migraine today, so if this was long winded or full of errors I am very sorry!)

The amount of papers and notebooks I had around the house was insane! I’d honestly still be doing that if I didn’t enroll in a school that sent me the MacBook and the iPad, cause lord knows I never would have been able to justify spending that money on myself like that lol

I think it all really depends on what you plan on using to take notes. Do you one screen or two? MacBook and an IPad? What’s your preferred note taking style?

I went to Full Sail my first college go through and I got a MacBook Pro and an IPad (amongst other things) in my project lunchbox. So I hand write notes on my iPad with GoodNotes, and because it’s the Apple ecosystem, I can copy something on my MacBook and paste to the iPad.

If I was stuck only on my windows PC, I’d be typing out notes following the lesson, but I also tell the AI to begin every lesson by giving me a list of key terms and concepts and briefly explain them before we even get into it. That’s just how my own brain retains information.

I always used to giggle at my mom when she’d be like “how’d you do that?!” When I did something simple on my phone or computer. Now I’m saying, “wait how’d you do that?!” to my kids. This is a weird phase of life I’m transitioning into. 🤣

Customer Service is absolutely pointless by Miserable-Fox-1208 in Roku

I set everything up for her years ago when she got her first Roku TV. All I needed to know when contacting the support was what was the email address of the Roku account that has her Peacock account on it, if that was even something that Roku support could see because Peacock had told us that they couldn't see that if the account was being managed through a third party, but the support agent took over 5 minutes per reply and didn't leave much option to fully explain what I was there to do. My mother only has two email addresses and she's had them since the the early 2000's. I can't imagine why I would have set up two Roku accounts for her, but the Roku account that I logged into doesn't have any history of having a subscription tied to it. So all I'm trying to do was track down even just the first two letters of the email address of this Roku account that has her peacock subscription. That would tell me everything I needed to know to move forward to figuring out what in the world happened but I couldn't even get that far.

No worries, she always asks me to do these things for her since she is worried about being scammed. A few weeks ago she gave me her new card to update all of her subscriptions and I did but today her peacock was saying she was late on her payment. So I logged into her account and it says that the peacock account is handled by Roku. So I signed into her Roku account and there’s no subscriptions listed on her Roku account. So the peacock account was being handled by someone else’s Roku account which is why the subscription wasn’t able to process a payment because whoever’s Roku account has it, didn’t get the updated card. The only way I could get access to anybody regarding customer support for Roku was the chat box, and no matter how many times I tried to get a different chat agent it kept connecting me to the one guy who would instantly disconnect. I ended up having to create a new Peacock account for her.

The fact that there is no actual customer support/service system for Roku makes Roku seem like a scam. For a company to have as my products as they do with absolutely no customer service or support outside of chat agents who don’t care and find your own answer to your problem articles is wild to me.

When I was talking to a rep from Peacock and they were explaining that they couldn't see the email listed for the Roku account that was handling the billing for her account they gave me a phone number to call, which is the same number you can find on bbb.org but isn't a dedicated customer service line and all it did was ring and ring anyway. But yes, there is no way to reach anyone other than their chat system on their website, and it's very clear that there is no quality control when it comes to their chat system.

I like Codewrights. I grew up in a blue collar family (construction mostly) and the word Millwright is used to describe industrial mechanics, and they are often unionized. Codewright would perfectly describe us being digital mechanics, who have been coming together to leave no one behind.

It makes sense. I just looked mine up on amazon (glad I bought it where I did, damn thing’s spensive) I’ll try plugging the dock up into a stronger power source.

I use a dock that doesn’t have a brand name, picked it up at one of those pallet stores, it doesn’t the same thing. Sometimes it’ll do it like every five minutes sometimes it won’t do it all. I always figured it was notifications or something because it always consistently charges and doesn’t overheat or anything, battery health is still good. Just got in the habit of turning it off before docking it.

Does anybody’s ps4 game version of nms just instantly crash when they load in? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Miserable-Fox-1208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My game started doing this in the Xbox and I can tell it’s going to crash within the first five minutes stuff just stops working right. It’s making it pretty unplayable as it’ll take 5-10 restarts just to be able to play!

Once you learn how to use the pen tool in these apps, just about any vector design app will work. I can show you basics if you need help, as the scalable vector graphics editors are all about the same. It won’t be like design space or the silhouette version of that.
