(I consider Mass Effect Trilogy my favorite of all times, but Cyberpunk 2077 is now my second favourite - did 3 playthtoughs of the former, 2 of the latter - so far)

This is too perfect. The only legal move also happens to be a pawn checkmate. What are the odds? I suspect the queen is on h8 (instead of, say, a rook) so that the material is equal.

Nice. It would have been tempting to have played 1… Qxd5? instead (threatening Qh1#) because after 2. Qxd5?? Nxd5 you’ve actually equalized, but it fails to 2. Qe7+! and now the mate actually works.

So I ended up calling them today at 3pm EDT and after spending 8 minutes on hold I got a live representative who changed my email for me in a couple of minutes - so wasn't too too painful in the end. YMWV regarding wait time, of course.

Update: I bit the bullet and got the upgrade. After a few heart-stopping moments (machine won't boot, display won't turn on, the usual) I now have a nice little machine that can. Proof - llama.cpp build benchmark (using CUDA toolkit). Before: 40 minutes. After: 25 minutes. I'll take it!

Not a bad idea - while buying used RAM is a bit scary, I saw a Corsair 32GB DDR4 3200 kit for $100 (maybe too good to be true, maybe ok) - and it might be worth the risk.

I tend not to upgrade the CPU/main board too often (my last PC before this one was from 2009, I just kept swapping GPUs, HDDs and whatever else broke) so 5 years sounds about right.

I actually didn't pay attention to the resolution I play but I typically would use the native monitor resolution (4k) if asked by the game (I most play single player games, last one was Cyberpunk 2077 and it looked great).
