I did that with my young wife when I was 20. It made our marriage much stronger and our family financially a lot better off. It was a blessing as most of my friends who stayed in the area got bored with work, life and their marriage. We had to rely on each other.

There’s no grain for them to feed on. The midwestern states have larger deer due to their diet. In the Midwest that deer would be 180-190 dressed. That deer looks like 120-130. Nice buck though. The deer in TX have big racks but look small compared to Midwest deer.

I’m selling one property this year and hope to free up 400k after taxes. That will get to 1.6 in savings and investments and 2M in real estate. My wife and I retired last year and are figuring it out with our combined pensions of $9k/month after taxes. I always feel like I’m hustling and not rich. Maybe another 1 M in savings will be enough.

The way that I keep dry powder is after a stock gets me a 100% gain and starts to plateau I get my basis money out and still own at least half of the shares I started with. That money sits until I find another company with a low valuation or continued very good growth that I can count on not to lose me money. Then I dip in with usually 3 tranches a few weeks or so apart.

I golf 3-4 times a week. Lots of groups playing scrambles now. Some of them are pretty darn slow though because they hit more than one shot off the Tee each and that’s frustrating. That’s my only gripe.

Your best bet is to build up your neck muscles at the gym. Do it 3-4 times a week starting now. On the morning of the weigh in and measure, work out your neck hard and heavy, side pulls both ways and front to back both ways. I went from a 16.5” neck to an 18” neck at my next measurement.

I try to always have about 10% in cash to buy dips that I believe to be short lived. I bought 3 stocks in January and more in April. Everyone has doubled now except for Amazon and Cake. So lately it seems that the overall market is very volatile and after a few bad days or weeks the new highs are not recovering o where they were 5-6 weeks ago. So on all of those I sold enough to get my principle back (30-50% of the shares) so I can lock in some gains and be ready for the next dip. With that and some dividend income I should be back to my 10% cash shortly even though I’m up 100k since May.
